I can't tell you how nice it is to be back. Long haul this time and tainted by real sadness. Anyway, we're not going to dwell on that cos that ain't what we do ..... RIGHT!

First things first. Following in the age old Swagger tradition I get back from a tour and buy a bike. No change there ..... just acquired a cracking little Triumph Daytona 675. So that's me sorted. I'll be hammering it around a track any day soon. Well once the debrief is complete the those damn nurses stop poking me around .... I actually quite like that if I'm honest. Trouble is I'm not honest .... I'm a gung ho grunt with a passion for good looking (female) nurses and I'll tell em anything just to get them to lavish their undivided attention on me >:D

Glad you survived another round. Welcome back and indeed, have some fun with the new toy. Just remember, no point making it back only to auger in on the local streets, eh? Please remember that the local drivers are still trying to kill you, if not quite so effectively as the professionals.

And try to avoid the hospitals, there are SICK people in those places! ???

Welcome back Swagger. It is always good to hear you've made it one more time. You'll have to take better care of yourself and stay out of hospital. Only go to visit your mates and have your way with the pretty nurses... ::025::

Appreciate the welcome home fellas. The debrief and hospital thing is just part of our normal shakedown procedure ..... they just want to make sure we're fit and healthy. I caught some frag this time out and now have new scars to show off ::) .... plus we never know what we've been exposed to .... and heaven knows what we've been eating and drinking. Ain't no fancy dining where they send us.

Photos of the nurses .... you'd be a brave man to try that :)

As for your original question about who has been behaving (or not) : EricV and Dallara have been having some rather...erm..."healthy" debates over tires and such. Pluric made a recent appearance to defend the validity of pictures of his wheelie prowess, and a bunch of guys are on their way to Colorado to likely misbehave...

There's also been an update to the ECUnleashed flash that's garnering rave reviews (and a bunch of guys bitching about the hassle of mailing off their Gen 1 flashed ECUs for a free update).

Other than that it's been your typical forum stuff.

Again, welcome back to the fray...

Nothing much, just a little heated difference of opinions. Dallara is more of a racer boy background, I do more long rides. The first little blow up was over Dallara's contention that uber suspension upgrades were a safety feature and inexperienced riders would benefit more from that than experienced riders. ::) I believe that while great suspension is a wonderful thing, it's not really worth it for most riders, as the oem doesn't suck. And most riders won't ride at a level where the great suspension really means much.

The Dallara piped in on the Anakee 3 thread and told us how great his EXPs are. ??? That went downhill fast. It's ok, he's still using the stock grips too, but spent a metric ton on suspension and ECU flash, but loves the oem tires. Seems to think he rides real fast and claims you can run 85-95 with general impunity in TX and just get a friendly wave from the DPS. That sounded sort of odd to me when I know several people that have gotten tickets for 2-3 over in the great state of TX, so I called BS on that too. :)

I'm sure he has his point of view on it all too. Keeps saying I've painted myself into a box. The only box involved is the one he can't think outside of, IMHO.

Just irks me when someone tries to compare race riding and needs to street riding and needs. Apples and oranges.

@Swagger - :D :D

Don'cha' just love it when some rare visitor from out of state thinks they know more about where you live than you do?

Eric saying he knows all about the DPS in Texas and how fast you can ride here is like me saying everybody in Utah must be tobacco-smoking, booze-swilling, alcoholic bums simply because I saw a drunk panhandling for change and cigarettes outside the Salt Lake City airport once... ::)

Of course, I can understand how Eric might not think much of suspension upgrades when he runs car tires on the back of his bikes... :D

And you can tell he's dottering a pretty good bit these days since he can't even remember that the suspension discussion wasn't even here, but over on ADVrider... Maybe it's all that cheap bourbon and the Lucky Strikes... ::025::

Welcome back, Swagger! Thanks for your service! ::008::
