Re: 2 types of yamalube for final drive - which one do I use?
I have been in a delima over the past week as to proper rear diff fluid also. This forum recommending
Yamalube Friction-Modified Shaft Drive Gear Lube - part # ACC-SHAFT-LU-00
Yamaha Dealer recomending
The FJR final drive oil
Owners manual recommending any
80W gl4 or gl5
I called Yamaha customer assistance also
The guy indicated both the above oils are the same with the friction modifiers
I ended up using the FJR final drive oil for my 600 mile service.
I did find some fuzz on the magneet and was properly filled from the factory thank goodness. I hope this helps as I was not sure either.
Was funny the guy at Yamaha said to throw out anything from the internet and 5 minutes later quoting me the same part number listed on this forum. Woot I chuckled at that thanks guys.
