Hello everyone. I joined the forum a while ago out of general interest, but have been the happy (until recently) owner of a 2009 Moto Guzzi Stelvio. My Stelvio left me stranded by the side of the road three times with electrical problems in as many days while I was on a trip to Alaska with three friends. I was so pissed off, I bailed on the trip (trust issues with the Stelvio) came home, contacted my friendly and extremely helpful Yamaha dealer, and took a new 2012 unit (blue) off his hands today. I have ordered factory luggage, Givi engine guards and sump guard, Oxford heated grips and a few other farkles. I was very impressed with the smooth power delivery and excellent ergonomics of this machine. I think it may be everything I was hoping the Stelvio would be!

Cheers,

Bruce

Welcome Bruce I'm just east of London. I've just hit 40,000 km and the only problem was with my ABS unit which was replaced in Colarodo a few weeks ago. Yamaha Canada and Yamaha USA are saying that this is the first one that has had this problem.

Welcome BravoBravo
Them Stelvio's are cool, I sure like looking at them, But I'll ride my Tenere and let someone else own the Guzzi's.

Congratulations, the Tenere is a tank. Your biggest problem will be excessive smiling.

Welcome to forum. As a former owner of an Aprilia Futura, I feel your pain with Italian electrics

Thanks for the welcomes, Guys! I am starting to wonder if there is any truth to the rumour that Moto Guzzi bought the rights to Lucas Electrics... :D

Hi Bruce ... sorry to hear about your experience with the Guzzi. Great shame. Let's hope that the XT1200Z makes up for it. ::008::

Welcome aboard btw.

Thanks again, everyone. These are brilliant machines, aren't they? I am surprised they are not selling very well. I hope the rumours about no 2014 model are not true.

Thanks guys. Sometimes, things seem to happen for a reason. I was updating my profile and noted that I joined this forum almost exactly a year ago, so maybe it was fated that I should end up with an S10!

Welcome on, BB from Ontario. Canucks always welcome ... Preferred, actually. KIDDING >>>> I'M MESSIN' WITH YOU GUYS .... mostly. ::025:: ::025:: I might have welcomed you before, but here you go again. Well, I'm sorry for your troubles but .... now you're a TENERATOR. There might have been a reason to steer (pardon the pun) you in the right direction. ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Thanks, rem! If things had gone as planned, I would be in your back yard (not literally) right now. The friends I was travelling with are in Whitehorse tonight, according to my one buddy's Spot tracker.

Not happy about the Stelvio, not happy about bailing on Alaska, but delighted to be an S10 owner! ::015::

Cheers,

Bruce
