Hi Guys

Im a relatively new member on here but a couple of other threads with UK owners have recently mentioned that they would like to see a UK owners meet & possibly a future UK owners club of some sort.
How about some sort of list to find out how many UK owners we have on this site first plus a region so we can see where the majority are located? I dare say some of us also know S1 owners who are not on this forum so maybe we can spread the word a little?

To get the ball rolling in in South Staffs / Derbyshire border - new owner in the last 3-4 weeks! ;D

Count me in. ::008::

The English Lake District

2014 S10 since June

I'm wondering if in the first instance a section of this forum could be identified as a U.K section ?

I don't want to seem like we are muscling in but there's a lack of an S10 forum over here from what I can see

A fair few UK S10 owners are lurking here:

http://www.adventurebikers.net/

I think most of them are also on this forum, also seems to be a fair few 660 owners, probably worth posting up a link to this on that forum, also a fair number of S10 owners on the UK GS forum as well, I will not comment on why they swapped their Ultimate machine for an S10 ;)

I'm in South Somerset near the Dorset and Devon border and tend to hang around with the Triumph Explorer/800 crowd when I have time, their forum is active for this area.

I wouldn't mind seeing a UK section to this forum as there's a few on here that could make up the numbers.

Yep, I too have frequented the Adventure bikers forum and would agree that some of the members on there are to be found on here.

I used to be a member of the GS forum back in the day when I rode a GSA, I've grown up since then ::008:: :D

Well I'm up for it as ya know... Regarding where could one take place, from what I've seen before on another biker forum, is their UK meet location tends to move about year to year, being fair to the large contingent of UK forum members spread all over the UK. That's nice once you've got big numbers that attend, but early days here to see what the turnout could be. I think perhaps if a S10 meet took hold, it needs to be located centrally as best as can do to the S10 owners who shout up there interest on this thread with others as mentioned welcome along (still needs biker friendly/fun roads n whatever tho of course ::26:: ). Or perhaps, if someone takes a bit of a lead as ExTriumphExp has regarding setting this up, maybe his location opinion n planning could take a little president? (with gentle polite member guidance n input) ;) All just my own thoughts of course... The meet idea, etc, needs to run for a while I reckon to allow owners to come across it and input... BTW, I'm from Nottingham! :)

I think the South Midlands, such as Stratford, could be a good start or if we take our time and plan it for next season then we could get this rolling well.

If any of you would like to consider this area then I'm more than happy to lay on a couple of days guided tours and to arrange a campsite or similar.

Yes have to agree with Somerset on timing as its probably a bit late to get the ball rolling this year. We will have to see who /how many are interested in kicking some sort of meeting off. I was thinking something like central or north Wales to start with, easy enough to get to from somerset area (if theres many there) or from Lancashire as i know there some owners there & its only 2-4 hours if in Central England depending on how far east your starting from..

If it does become an annual meet then move north after that to Scotland, Northumbria or lakes? That`s if they will let us into Scotland after September 18th ::)

Going back to the site side of things it would also be good to have a for sale section where the price started with a £ rather than a $.

Yep obviously a UK meet would be better next spring or something maybe, to give time to stimulate enough interest on here. Could be a good bash by then.... Be interesting to see where folks are from as they state there possible interest. Ya never know, there might be enough S10 owners for some to do the odd regional get together too... Regarding, for sale items I was thinking exactly the same thing earlier today. As the vast majority of the gear for sale is over the pond (n rightly so) it would of been nice to have something a bit more obvious for us UK owners as I tend to not bother trawling the for sale section because of this... Bit limited n disappointing just having Evil bay to get ya mits on some bargain S10 goodies... Used good stuff, rare as rocking horse poop on there too as far as I've seen... :(

I reckon, extra to any other input, if anyone is actually interested in 'attending' a UK meet, it might be helpful for them to enter there whereabouts on this thread... :)

Hi Guys,

Count me in. I'm in Flitwick, Nr. Bedford, on a 2014 ZE.

Flexible on venue & timing - 2/3 hours ride....ish. Camping ???? Glamping ? B&B for me.

Stratford isn't quite the Sunday riders Mecca it once was. The Ponderosa is good. Never been to Devils Bridge, but read tales of some good rides around KL in my V1K days, from Tyke & 100MA.

Around my patch - we could link up with say a flying day at Duxford/Old Warden. Bikers usually do the Sunday Cafe race to the Super Sausage or Jacks Hill Cafe, both near Towcester. Otherwise it's the Ace Cafe or Box Hill (Rykers) - venues OK but rides involve too much M-way. Then there are various Silverstone events. From my point of view though, I would prefer to explore fresh territory............ KEN..... ::022::

Startford / Towcester is not far from the Cotswolds which is my neck of the woods, not the best roads by a long shot, but the unclassified roads and lanes are OK and there are a few simple trails around, the biggest plus is the area is very central.

As long as it does not clash with anything else I could do a day meet within @2 hours of my doorstep, or a weekend bash up to @4 hours away.

Hiya Ken,

So you've moved over to the S10 world like myself, how are you liking the bike

Good to see ya on here and the offer of a (mis) guided tour around our neck of the woods still stands, 100MA and myself are still riding the roads around the Lakes and basically anywhere North of Skipton, so the offer of a (mis) guided tour still stands mate

I'm in for the U.K meet just as long as I can fit it in, and next year now looks more likely ::008::

Best wishes ~~~ Rog
