A friend gave me a hydraulic lift for the bike. It's not quite as nice as some and you almost need 2 people to get the bike on there securely but hey it was free. I plan on doing my oil change on there but then I realized I won't be able to lean the bike to assist with the oil drain because of the chock and it will be strapped on. However, I don't see where leaning in over is actually a requirement and I'm guessing most of the oil will drain while upright but I'm not sure. Obviously you don't need to get every drop out but the more the better. I've always leaned all of my other bikes over for full drain in the past. Any thoughts on this?
If it really needs to be on the side stand to drain most of the oil, I may just out it on the lift to remove/reattach the skid plate and do the rest off the lift but it's almost not worth the effort of putting it on the lift at that point.
Then again, I may drain what I can on the lift and measure the capacity of what comes out and make a decision on how to proceed at that point.
