OK I took delivery today and rode almost 80 miles this bike is a blast. It's a big difference when it's your own versus a demo bike. The blue is a WOW factor of 1000 when it's brand new. I've already removed all 6 stickers from the bike. The two Super Tenere came off easy with a hair dryer, the gas tank sticker was almost as easy but those ones on the top and right side of the rack were a pain. Used the hair dryer on them and my wife came up with the idea of using a plastic shoe horn to move the sticker along while we heated it up. Worked like a champ. Now a few observations, I have no flash to pass button on the left switch housing and no emergency flasher button are were supposed to? I do have that hole in my left housing that Fred took a picture of and I have Battlewings mounted. I need to rotate the h-bars back some way to far forward.

I will definitely need the large Cal Si windshield and the side wind deflectors work well and look really nice.

Congrats Vince! Yeah, that blue is nice. Thanks for the info about using the hair dryer on the stickers. I started pulling the one off of the tank before I had to leave on a 3 day trip to visit family. I was wondering how I was going to get that glue off. It is so annoying that they would put that sticker right on the front of the gas tank! I will be fitting my large CalSci windshield on Tuesday. Will post pix when done.

Thanks Paul same to you it is so cool we have our bikes. Hey the hair dryer worked great on the stickers but the residual glue had to be removed with Goo be Gone. Just be careful with that stuff and wax after. I never have any luck with WD-40 on the glue. I'm really interested in your thoughts about the shield and yes pics please when you can.

I used Goo B Gone and the lower layer of the sticker came right off. Cleaned and polished after that.

I recommend Wasps screen mount too.

3M makes a decal remover specific to automotive/motorcycle paint. Will not damage the finish.

You can find it at professional automotive paint stores.

Bug and Tar remover spray works the best I have seen. It even works on auto glass after removing tint film with ease.

This looks like a good place for this question having just rode my bike home last night. Are the controls and switch housings indexed to the bars? Do I need to file the indexing nub off the housings?

I'd bet so - I haven't seen a stock street bike in a long time with unindexed housings. I'd think twice about filing away the indexing pin - what typically happens afterwards is that you have to overtighten the housing pinch screws to get the housings to clamp tight enough to be rotationally stable. In time, the plastic fatigues and your housings loosen again until the screws strip.

Personally speaking, if you need to re-index, I'd take the bars off and drill another hole.

No they are not indexed,I rotated my bars back and reset clutch and brake perches -no problem. These bars are replicas of the fat bars on modern dirt bikes,i really like the bend of these-very natural.

Hmmm, the clutch perch rotated fine, but the brake and both switch housings wouldn't budge, they rattled loose on the bar but wouldn't rotate. I'll have to go ahead and split them open and see what's what I guess.

There is a hole in the bars that a tab fits into..
