I can only assume cruise control. Looking at a phone at same time. Why pay attention to driving when you can chat with your friends and enjoy all the comforts of home.

Brakes? Ability to use brakes? We don't need no steekin' brakes!

Absolutely right about the people seeming to work to HAVE distractions. I was commuting on Canal Road in the dark to get to the office in DC and a nice Mercedes was a bit erratic. This was 6am and I thought a bit early for a cell phone but the behavior looked the part. As I pulled beside in a slow pass and looked in, the driver was playing a coronet while steering with his knees.

He was actually pretty good.
