Yep, only a few hours though... ;D

Is the Smith Field Road / Forest Service Road 126 something you'd take the S10 on?

.
Sorry I missed ya.

I'd take the S10 on anything in the area except the 434 power line and some outlaw stuff I know in the area. There's LOTS of good dual sporting in that area.

Can you share where that is?

And, has anyone been on the FS roads around Amicalola Falls? I'm looking at Nimblewill Rd. There are a few jeep videos on youtube - looks promising!

Dick's Creek Rd. near Turner's Corner approximately (34.670629,-83.926538). It's got a pretty nice little water crossing.

I've been on Nimblewill, but I haven't been on the road behind Amicalola Falls. Been wanting to do that one. There's a plane crash site up there somewhere.

For those that don't already know, sad news. Bahill passed away unexpectedly at his home on 8/29/12. Many of you already know Brent from his V-Strom years and he was a regular at Riders's Hill.

Brent was thrilled with his new Tenere and was just putting the finishing touches on the farkles. I know how excited he was to meet other Tenere riders at Rider's Hill like MudNut and MrTwisty, he was looking forward to riding with you guys.

Brent was one of those guys that was your friend for life. Big smile and couldn't do enough to help you out.

He will be missed. Ride on Brent...

Wow! He looked perfectly healthy when I met him just a few weeks ago. Prayers going up for Brent's family. Yes, ride on Brent.

A few of us (mostly FJR riders, so it will be all street) have a ride planned this Sunday out of Rider's Hill at 9:00am. You guys from this forum are welcome to join us. I'm sure Brent would approve. We can ride in his honor.

I read this yesterday and just didn't know what to say. Still don't really. I was really looking forward to meeting him, it just never worked out with my schedule to get up to Rider's Hill when we would be there. I regret a little not simply making it a priority. I take solace in knowing that I was not just sitting on my butt being lazy as my excuse for not meeting him. I was actually experiencing life, mostly riding at the race track or riding later in the day with my girlfriend. Life is simply to short to sit on the sidelines and this just brings it home once more.
I am sorry that I did not get to meet you bahill, may you rest in peace and have all of the twisty adventures and eternal sunshine! Your family is in my thoughts as they deal with living on without you there.

This is a phone pic of BaHill (on the left) and Jason from the VStrom forum during a break on our ride August 12th. I Really enjoyed meeting him and riding with him. Hope the rest of us can get together sometime soon; he would've gotten a kick out of that.
RIP Brent.

Here's your chance. You guys might be interested in the Bahill memorial ride we're planning for Sunday, September 23, 2012. Brent told me how much fun he had trying to keep up with you guys that day...

Planning on some motorcycle camping up in the area this weekend. Haven't decided on an exact location, but it may be one of the beautiful primative camp sites off Richard Russell. I might try to catch up to you guys.
