Don in Lodi, Jeff, Just Bob, and I had a cold but clear fun ride today. Three 2012's (blue) and one 2014 ES (white).

- Patterson CA: had always stopped near I-5 for fuel and food but never been to to real city. Used to be an Agtown and now it has a Walmart and Amazon.con distribution center. Interesting.
- Del Puerto Canyon Rd: twisty and beautiful though had a ton of bicycle riders. Enjoy this road.
- The Junction: very good service and food. Tri-tip sandwich was tasty and the coffee was good. We arrived as a Porsche group did. Luckily most of them headed south to Lick Observatory.
- Mines Rd: twistier than I remember. Lots-O-Fun.
- River Road and Ferries: my return trip included roads along the Sacramento River, sloughs, and islands. The last two free state owned vehicle ferries are in the Rio Vista and Ryde areas. Always fun crossing waterways on a cable guided ferry. Very little traffic today so 60-75 mph was mandatory. Rode into agland to search roads of my youth. Got lost... I know... how do you get lost in flat agland. Its a specialty ;)

While I'm not in CA... nevertheless we had a great ride yesterday and way. It started at 23 degrees an we had 18 of us (all kinds of bikes) at breakfast. Then we rode out and some went on home. We still had 10 at lunch. I ended up with 220 miles on the day. Western North Carolina is great!

Hey Brick... you are a hardy soul. I waited till around 2pm here in WNC to let it warm up a bit and still got in 91 miles of fun on the Tenere - alot of gravel and dirt up around Pinnacle Mtn. Was out with my old riding buddy who has gotten back into ADV riding after a hiatus by grabbing a cherry 99 DR350SE off the ADV rider forum.

Trikepilot,
Great to hear from you! It was cool for sure. I'm a lightweight as there were at least two on the ride that had no heated gear. I had it all and I turned it all the way hot!
