...weather permitting. Anybody NorCal, or anywhere for that matter, planning on getting out and about on the 1st?

Hi Don,

Think I have this dreaded cold beat, finally. Let me know what you have in mind.

Also thinking about riding to The Junction this Sunday. If not I will be shooting at a local range.

Tim, did you wind up with one of the flu bugs? Or just the run of the mill cold...
What's a good ride? Snow line? Coast? Just had a thought for Arnold and Giant Burger. That's snow line. Hmm, open New Years?

I thought you were going to put your foot down for 2015 Phil. It's nice to be needed, but enough is enough sometimes. ::26::

Thought:
Meet at Patterson. Up Del Puerto Canyon Rd, down Mines Rd. See if the junction burger place is open, if not, someplace in Livermore. Get Just Bob to show us some great eats. Or really really push a full day and drop down on the San Jose side. The Lick Observatory will probably be closed. Could link up with Calaveras Rd pretty easily. Sierra/Felter Rd to connect the two. Wow, exhausting just thinking about it.

Backing away from overtime is one thing. Being as this day is my normally assigned shift day, not so much.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Tomorrow I had plans to ride to Patterson, The Junction, Mt Hamilton, The Junction, Antioch Bridge, and the River Road (home) but I decided to stay off the Tenere for another few days. Going to shoot two new handguns instead.

I'm interested for a ride on the first, I'm out of Modesto.
Hey Steve, do you have a favorite loop out of Modesto that us "Northerners" may not have done?
New Years is gonna be cold but sunny. Most of Del Puerto is north facing, gonna stay wet forever. If we've got a way to stay warm it looks like a good day for a ride.

Hi Don,

We can go out Hwy 132 to Coulterville then down 49 to Mariposa through the little dragon. Then go back roads around the area like Cathys Valley.

Bummer. I've done all of that once earlier, and most of that a second time with Jeff a couple months ago, after Horizons Unlimited. Outstanding loop, and a big swath of country close by I need to explore more. Do you know all the little squiggles on the map out there, all the little out of the way towns? I can see a need to explore out there come Spring time for sure.

OK, how about 10AM Thursday at the station just down the hill from 5 at the Patterson exit, I think it was a Chevron. Gives Mother Nature at least a chance to get above 40. ::025::
Jeff and I will be there. Tim is thinking hard on it. Livermore's Just Bob will likely be there... to guide us to lunch. ::26::
S'posed to be clear and sunny, just damn cold.

Yep. Not sure if the freeway signage says Sperry or Diablo Canyon though.
Ah, Google Earth shows that it says both.
