I got an email this evening from Yamaha announcing the unveiling of a new model on June 5 @ 6:30 CST. Anyone know what it is? ::017::

Got the same one. Does the profile in the picture look like an adventure bike, or am I biased? ::022::

Well, we know it isn't a cruiser or it would be called a Star. It looks either naked or motard-ish to me but with no certainty.

Does the cover look like it maybe a FZ07? The mirrors/windshield and rear hump does not support the FZ-07 to me with the photo that PowersUSA posted. The cover looks more like a upright setting adventure bike to me if the photo is of the bike they are releasing. You never know until the cover comes off but it would be cool if they released a smaller Tenere in the USA.

Yup. My dealer indicated the idea of one/both an FZ-7 and even went so far as to throw out XT9. Regardless, I'm interested. I mean, really, the answer to the age old question is and always will be, ONE MORE. The question? How many bikes is enough?

The Yamaha on line announcement to dealers will be on the morning of June 5, so your dealers will have the info before the 6:30 PM time that this dealer has listed. Our rep also confirmed that they did copyright the term FJ09 and said that he has heard that they are also working on a smaller ADV bike, probably based on the FZ07 motor. The official Yamaha email to dealers says that they will be introducing several early release 2015 models on June 5.

A smaller FJR based on the FZ-09 engine would be sweet if it's full featured (at least give it the cc) and lighter. A much lighter, true dual sport capable (i.e. single track capable) XT800Z with the same low CG design as the Super Ten would be cool too. We all know Yam has been teasing a line of 3 cyl bikes and "cross plane" twins. Let's see 'em!

My problem is I really like all my current bikes! Oh the humanity! :D

Its like a rorschach test that reveals something about yourself based on what you see. I see a new 200hp, 400 lb triple motor R1.

Anyone planning to make it out to the launch? That is right in my backyard, I'll be there. Feel free to drop me a line if you wanna link up before that.

I looked at that pic and was really hoping it was a Tenere 700 with the twin from the MT/FZ 07. Tall windshield and a top box in the back?? Since we can't get the Tenere 660 here in the States sure would make a great compliment to my Super Ten. But, I am sure its the FZ07 for US since it was already announced for Canada.
