Are you asking about when I post that I have a Super Tenere on the BMW forum? Or, when I tell other BMW owners? Amongst owners, people generally respond favorably towards it. They don't speak negatively about the bike. And really, that's reasonable, because there's very little negative to be said about the Super Tenere.
I went to 2 different BMW Rallies last year on my Tenere... One time our group was 1x R1200GSA, 1x V-Strom, 1x Wee-Strom and my Super Tenere.
I think the only comment I got was a guy jokingly saying "Man, that Tenere is Super!".

I will say at 45yo, I felt like the youngest guy in the camp ground other than my friends (we'll all similar ages) and some people's grand kids that were at the rally.

Definitely you raise a good point about the age group of BMW owners. While it does seem to be slowly changing, at 35 years old, I'm often the youngest in the crowd by at least ten years. The average age of my local BMW club is probably somewhere around 57 years old.

Then again, I'm not sure that the average Super Tenere owner is much younger than 57? From past posts here and other places, I know that I'm in the low side of the age group to own a Super Tenere.

With age comes wisdom, sometimes..... ::025:: ::26::

I'm 72 and refuse to buy a Kermit chair and attend BMW rally's, too many old folks there! ^-^

Very nice ride SP !! I love the looks of the paint job, the beak, the single sided swingsrm , the exposed frame, the brakes , suspension and the power of this bike . I cant afford it but maybe some day !!
How does the Boxer copare to the inline as far as coasting and smoothness over long distance ?
Will the cage on the head/cylinder protector on the BMW touch before the peg feeler on the Tenere ?
Again congradulation even though im a little/lot jealous GOOD LUCK !!

I have a 2005 Yamaha Roadstar Silverado now. I rented a GS in California last year for 5 days. I really liked it. It took a little bit to get used to the Roadstar again when I got home. Now I now what the bike magazine reviewers mean when they say the brakes feel "numb". When I had my front tire replaced last August the dealer let me test ride a 2014 S10. I will probably move away from the cruiser and into an S10 or GS this year.

I traded a 2008 Road Star Silverado in on my 2012 Tenere.
No more cruisers for me.
I rode a cruiser for over a decade, while I enjoyed it I always felt like there was something better.

Simply getting wind protection on a sportbike was a huge relief, I have zero desire to ever ride another naked bike.

I am going the other way; from BMW Adventure to Super Tenere. My last long distance BMW trip should have been fun, but when I developed a little play in the bearing of the final drive, it took all the fun out of the trip. The BMW repair cost of the final drive was nearly equivalent to the entire drive shaft of the Super Tenere.

I had a KTM that couldn't return from a trip without something breaking or vibrating off. Never again.

Well I pulled the trigger and bought a 2015 Super Tenere ES ( from Taz in NY). Got it on Saturday evening and I am having fun so far! Still have the Road Star in the garage if anyone is interested.
