Hello, Everyone. I've owned my S10 for just a few weeks now, coming off a Tiger 800XC that I loved and still can't explain why I sold it. The weather here lately has prevented me from really getting to know my new bike, but here's hoping to some great rides very soon.

The forum has already been a great source of info for me, and I'm glad to have finally registered.

Welcome. The S10 will be equally as good. It's just a little bigger. Enjoy the ride! Make sure you check out the Colorado thread. There will be close to 100 of us ascending on Ouray the last week of June. You should try to make it out.

Welcome from just up the road in Monument. You're gonna love the S10! I found the Tiger 800 felt like a sewing machine she was wound so tight.

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

As for the Colorado gathering, unfortunately I'll have moved to Virginia by then. I'll be kicking and screaming the whole way, but that's the life--two years here, two years there . . .

The Tenere will have no problem riding you out to Colorado and back. It can chew up miles with the best of them. ::021::

Hello and ::004:: aboard! Hey, when and where will you end up in Virginia??? I (am a few other) hang around VA close to D.C. Thinking about throwing a few bikes on a trailer and trucking to Ouray to split costs and share driving duties. Just cause your 2,000 miles away don't think this group is gonna let you off lightly for not making it to the rally ::025::

Hello!

I plan to ride to the top of that 14,110' bump just west of you.

In July 1991 I did it on a Harley and it was snowing at the peak.

Had to tweak the carb going up and coming down.

Gotta love FI

I think you'll find that the road is much nicer now than it was in '91!

CapsLock, I'll be in Charlottesville from sometime in summer to early next summer. Dates aren't exactly set yet, but most of my free time will be spent back and forth between Cville and upper East Tennessee. There's still a possibility that I'll be in CO for the gathering (can there be more than one?), but everything is uncertain.

Excellent. I was just in Cvill last weekend, playing tourist. I can already recommend a great place for Prime Rib :). There've been a couple of local gatherings in the area already and maybe the next one can be your way.
