Isn't that the same as saying ABS affects the brakes though? It's doing its job, just that you don't realise how often it does its job til it's there.

Some what. I think the s10 tcs programming is a little too anticipating.

I assume the "anticipating" is it noticing the slightly different wheel speeds that occur long before what most of us would describe as a wheel spin is happening.

The rear wheel will be "slipping" at quite modest acceleration (and even at cruise speeds) I did see some data somewhere once that showed something like a few percent "wheelspin" as being normal on a bike going down a straight on a race track under hard acceleration.

Under heavy acceleration in what a rider would consider a non wheel spinning situation there is probably a couple of percent of "wheelspin" from the S10, particularly in lower gears, and this will be compounded by the front wheel going light and maybe slipping the other way (i.e. not keeping up with road speed)

I have noticed my bike feels a fair bit quicker with traction off when accelerating hard in the lower gears, a shame the normal mode is not a bit less keen to intervene, or a "Sport" mode that allows just a bit more leeway but not going as far as the next setting which allows a bit more slide than I would want on tarmac.

What does an optimal fuel map look like for off-road riding? does anyone have any screen shots of the TPS-RPM table for best off-road use?

I am thinking about getting one of these devices, and use T for road, and S for off-road, but not completely sure how the table changes for each application.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't played with the ECU at all, but I'd be more inclined to use T for off-road (T for Trail), since it has the mellower settings to begin with.

Has anyone here closely examined the before & after fuel mapping differences on one of the more common ECU remaps set up on an actual dyno - what tuning changes are being set (+/-) throughout the low, mid, top end range?

Had my Gne1 on the dyno, both standard and with Arrow System.

They run very rich at the top end - even with the Arrow system mine still needed fuel taking out of the Yamaha map, the bottom end is very weak (Closed Loop Area)

My ECU-U Flash was quite good for top end fuelling, but failed to address the poor low down running with Arrow headers, the custom flash I had done on the Dyno resolved this.

I would be interested in seeing this as well, it would be nice to see screen shots on the changes made in FT to understand the direct connection between the improvement in the maps. Are these maps shareable in excel downloads? Or would you have to screen shot every map?

Anyone can download the Flash Tune software and compare maps that are available. What you have to buy is the hardware to flash a bike.
While you can copy and paste a 2D map array to Excel, you'll have to fill in the headers yourself.
There are 3rd party and user maps to look at, but most of these are for sport bikes. It would at least give you an idea of what's going on.
