You have very nicely run electrical.....I hate electrical work as I never seem to get it "neat". Great job.

I do have a question on the Toura tech Adjustable Windshield Bracket....Touratech doesnt know the range of adjustment in inches (or any other units for that matter). Wondering if you have a rough idea how far vertical it changes, and how far horizontal? Thanks.

Yamapa, if the touratech one lists MM adjustment, simply divide that number by 25.4.

Good question to which I can only respond by saying - enough to fix any and all buffeting issues I had with my 6'1" frame, 215 lb. weight, and 34" inseam legs. I would guess about three inches vertical and two inches forward but that is a WAG at best and on a good day.

That would put your torso at about 1" longer than mine, but, since I'm 150lbs soaking wet, you probably sink into the seat an inch further, so it's all good. 8) I think that setup would be suit me just fine.

Awsome job Phil !
Question. I am going to install the same fuse block and want to power my Garmin from it instead of the cigarette lighter outlet. I want to cut the Mini USB cord at the Cigerette plug and wire it to the Fuseblock. How many wires should I expect to find in that bugger and where do I go with them. The guy at Radio Shack said there were three. I would know what to do with two but am lost on the third.
Thanks in advance

Which Garmin we talking about? My guess is you are talking about perhaps a 2730? There should be a black (ground) and a red (Positive) and then either a blue or yellow but I can not recall. The third wire is a dead reckoning wire that would interconnect if you had a BMW. It allows dead reckoning through signal loss sections by using your speed pulse off the bike.

My GPS from Garmin have all come with exposed power wires that were fused. I've only run teh 2610, 550, and now the 665 though. I do believe it was the 27 series that had the dead reckoning feature incorporated.

Thanks for the help but I found the solution. I found a direct wire (two wires) MiniUSB online from gpscity.com to work my Nuvi 550. Right now it's direct wired through my Coo Case. Expecting my Centech AP1 for Christmas then I'll clean up the wiring. So far it's four items wired in there. Coo Case lighting,Nuvi550,Gerbing gloves, and a battery tender.
Thanks again for the reply

Good tip!! I will do that. Do you happen to recall what length M8 bolts you used?
Sorry to be so late in replying Phil but was wrapped in working on the bike. The bolt length is 50 mm or about about 2 inches. Long enough so it goes through completely and you have room for a lock washer and nut on the inside of the bike. The OEM ones are about half of that and so they don't go all the way through the piece. As said before.....don't rely on these to hold the pannier rack, pannier, and the passenger footpeg loads. ::005::

You mention that the lights are Yamaha but then I see they are PIAA? Which are they, and where'd you get em? Thanks....
They are manufactured by PIAA under the Yamaha banner. I got them from my dealer. Somewhere in this thread is the part number for Yamaha.

Alright, here we go.....

I have done it. I have reached the end of the internet! Doh, just kidding. ::019:: I have, however, finished the major build of my Super Tenere excepting the suspension work. I have this covered under this topic here if you're interested.....

http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=3172.msg55253#msg55253

I have finished the install of the Touratech Zega Pro 31/38 liter panniers and rack. I chose the 31/38s as they keep the width less than the handlebar width. An important consideration for me out here in Californikistan where I split lanes whenever necessary. The below pics will also show the Akrapovic pipe I installed several weeks ago.

So, here are the latest pics....

Those look sharp!

I've been waffling about spending more $ on those or getting the Trax setup but you may have just put me over the edge.

I just don't like the sharp, squared edges and lids or the proportions on the other offerings and those rounded edges are just so ........................ nice!

One question. I know you are using the touratech mount for your top box; could the box be mounted to an Altrider rear rack?

Wow, those Touratechs look nice! I had the SW-MOTREX Trax system on my F800GS and really wasn't impressed with them. I could live with them not being watertight, but they were also very flimsy.

Looking very good there Phil, good to see a fellow IBA Member flying the flag. Can you do me a favour and post the messurments of the Pannier Rack square section at the rear. The squar the panniers mount to please. Just want to know if they are the exact same size as the Metal Mules.

Cheers
