speed , weather , personal habits , altitude ,etc.etc. all play a part in MPG . over 70 mph milage starts to waver ,over 80 not as good as at 70 . I personally get 42 to 45 mpg on my 2019 ES . I ride on the conservative side (slow ).

That headlight guard on your super tenere.I am looking to purchase one. Some on ebay are from china £36.seen an aluminium one from france £55.then the touratech one is painted stainless £100.Have you had any issues with paint falling off? How long has it been on? Is it a good fit?
I bought a stainless one off ebay, the guard is identical to the Touratech one but its bolted on rather than quick release. It was about £30 but that was a few years back. The paint chipped off after a few thousand miles but a quick coat of matt black and it's looking good again.

Yep! Viewing the "current mpg" reading on a recent trip:
- flat ground, no head wind, < 70 mph, I was seeing @ 53-57 mpg
- flat ground, no head wind, > 70 mph, I was seeing 37-43 mpg
- flat ground, stiff head wind, > 70 mph, I was seeing 23-29 mpg

Throw in hills, etc, and I average @ 41 mpg (but I run a lot of high speed slab stuff when traveling.....and there ALWAYS seems to be a damn headwind).

On my 2018 I have BUMOT panniers and a givi top box all of which rarely comes off.
When I leave on a trip I typically ride the freeway for at least 300 miles.
After that I try to be on surface roads or even county roads as much as possible.
During the freeway "getting out of town" time I get 47ish mpg. Once I can ride the more desirable secondary roads my mpg goes up considerably... 50 to 56ish.
I'm not a slow rider - I'm not a fast rider either. I'm kind of a "half fast" rider...

I collected my 2019 Super tenere from Wigan Yamaha todayA mixture of 55mph riding on the M6 through road works.80 mph on motorway.and 65 mph on some A roads gave me 62 miles per gallon. It is the last bike I will buy now.I used to put 14.000 miles a year on a bike.but since I got a wife and two young girls/plus work. it has dropped to around 6000 miles a year. But to be fare to my wife she encourages me to go to far away places.

Your lucky, after my first was born I was given an ultimatum, "motorcycles are for single people" so I had nothing to do with bikes till my son because of the age to have a dirt bike, then I could ride a dirt bike with him...LOL
Now the kids are gone, I'm making up for lost time.

Looking to buy a Tenere myself, I have the same concern about the electronic suspension, I've seen Bmw's need expensive repairs when it fails on them. Which model did you buy in the end?
Collected the 2019 Super tenere yesterday.62 mpg on a mixture of motorway.A roads.B roads.80 mph maximum.in tour mode.

About 6-7l/100km if I’m riding in city traffic, have seen it go as bad as 10l/100km with a heavy throttle

Highway cruising around 115-120km/h which is the sweet spot for me equals around 5-5.5l/100km. That drops by about 1l/100km if cruising at 130km/h and improves by about the same if I go down to 100-105km/h.

3 box pannier setup and dry bags strapped on top hurts things marginally, about 0.2-0.5l/100km/h
