The Burr Trail was simply amazing. It was paved to start, but soon turned to a gravel road. Some spots were washboard and it is a good thing Tombstone didn’t attempt. This would have killed his wrist.

I found a nice spot to camp for the night. B8291AF0-91C5-4F16-B02C-E92865CD76C6.jpegED83E73A-6690-4D4E-885B-160E41B63F50.jpeg2F67EA7C-4FC2-4832-B954-F22610744CD9.jpeg0249F4C7-E0DB-4109-A7E4-20FF0174E72B.jpeg

Continuing on my way the next Morning, I made it over to Boulder, Utah.
If you ever get the chance to do the Burr Trail, it does not disappoint. It has all the beauty of Zions Park, with far less people. It has sections of gravel roads but nothing a Tenere with stock battle wings couldn’t handle. Simply gorgeous. 91037999-C4F5-4A32-8193-8FAB2A6471DE.jpeg91037999-C4F5-4A32-8193-8FAB2A6471DE.jpeg3F1A4F41-9AA0-409F-8B4D-B2D9B7390DD6.jpegB77E34C9-3BF4-43C3-8995-C0A0F7FB27B0.jpeg

I headed home early Sunday. It was an enjoyable ride up until Nephi when I got on the freeway. I was going to do the backside of Mt Nebo but ran into a closed road sign.

The Kenda Big block on my front was cupping badly. It got really buzzy and vibrations made my nose itch. I was surprised the back still looks good for quite a while. I won’t be putting a kenda back on the front.

Good you think You have the wrist sorted out. Take it easy, and count me in for the Cache Rally.

Good stuff, Mak10! Great meeting you guys. I did roughly that same route in reverse and regretting I passed on Hells backbone. I was enjoying 12 too much and storm clouds were threatening.

Thanks for the writeup. I plan to be in this area in August on my to San Diego. I will probably be riding Anakee 3's or Anakee Adventure tires. I ride mostly pavement. Any of these roads I should avoid?

Thank you for posting this advice. I am currently planning our next cross country ride and would like to dip our toes in Moab. It will be a mixed group of bikes. Some of them sport tourers on softer tires. So comments like this help a great deal.

Even on pavement only, the riding in Southern Utah is fantastic. Bryce, Escalante and the Hogback headed to Hanksville was one of my favorite rides when I lived near there.
But if you have not traveled in the area: See gas? Get gas. Stations can be very far apart at times.
But definitely go.
