It looks like to ride the white rim trail you need a permit. You can only get the permit 2 days in advance. 50 vehicles/motorcycles per day. Friday would be a less busy day to do this trail.

Not sure what my plans are yet, but I'm tentatively riding through Moab on Saturday the 11th?
The Town/Trails will probably be busy, but I was planning on passing through the area on my way back to Colorado.

Read this.
https://www.nps.gov/cany/planyourvisit/dayusepermits.htm

25 permits are available on line 24 hours in advance and 25 permits are issued the day of your ride at the visitor center.

I'm still trying to make this but just can't be sure for a few days.

Weather is looking perfect for next weekend. It is supposed to rain tomorrow/possibly snow and then get nice for the weekend.

I should know by today if it's a go for me.
I need to get some info from you Mak10.
I don't have a phone so I can be hard to meet up with.

I'm planning on being there.
It looks like there is a blizzard going on , on Vail Pass right now.
that might be a problem.

I'm still hoping to make it as well, I got my wrist (clutch side) caught in some machinery yesterday and hope to have a miraculous healing by Thursday morning. 'Camp' or 'hotel' will be based on how much the swelling goes down by then.
I should arrive Thursday late afternoon.

I’m still planning on meeting up Thursday afternoon/evening. I need to stop in Payson at Rocky Mountain and look at a new helmet on the way down.

The weather looks perfect, and the recent rain makes the sand/dirt/dust that much better.

If no one can make it I will make this into a NP run as I have never been in Arches NP.

If you want to meet somewhere and ride down together, I’m up for that.

Sounds good Mak.... I'm in West Valley, you'll likely pass here on your way to Payson. Let me know your route and we'll figure out a meet up spot.

Hi Guys, I'm back home.
Made it to Colorado but could not get over the continental divide. If I even looked in that direction it would sleet, snow, or hail on me.
I did ride in the foot hills around Cripple Creek Thursday until a blizzard ran me out of the mountains into the plains.
We will have to try this again in warmer weather some day. It was in the 30s and 40s almost my whole trip but still good riding.
Here's a picture of some of the good riding I did have.

Eemsreno, sort to have missed you. It has been a great ride for me so far. Moab was as busy as I have ever seen. Tombstone and I decided to take another route and ride the Moki Dugway and then do the Burr trail. Unfortunately tombstone was having trouble with his wrist. He went towards home and I sought out the Burr trail. Report to follow with some pictures.

That was really fun...at least the first part. I got home a few minutes ago from a 20 hour visit to three ERs. They kept sending to the next one in hopes the next specialists could figure out why my left hand was hugely swollen and extremely painful. After 20 hours of pokes, prods, tests, and thankfully painkillers, they shrugged their shoulders and sent me home.

Was very good to meet you Mak10....I'm looking forward to our next get-together.

We then made it into Moab. The town was as busy as I’ve seen. We went up to a he sand flats campground and it was full. Every place in town was full. We managed to get a spot at the KOA, which was a picknic table and some sand.

Worked for me, and we set up camp. Tombstone now realized that his air mattress is back at home.

I’m too old to sleep on the ground. He’s tougher than me.
We decide to head out of Moab and go towards Mexican Hat and ride the “Moki Dugway”. Along the way we run into Trip Hammer at a gas station in Bluff, Ut. Maybe we can ride together sometime.

After riding the Moki Dugway and seeing Muley point, Tombstone’s wrist is really giving him hell. We were planning on riding down towards Lake Powell, and then riding the Burr Trail towards Boulder Utah.

Unfortunately the pain in Tombstone’s wrist becomes too much. H tells me to go ahead, but heads off to find a motel.

So I continue on this adventure solo.
