So far all is good. I really am liking the fit and finish, its really good. Felt a little buffeting with the screen in the low position but nothing terrible. It had some low idle issue at one stop but corrected itself after a stab of the throttle. You can really feel a difference in T and S mode. I like the dash layout very easy to use. It's pretty tall even in low seat position and I am at 5'9" 29" inseam. Not a worry point though I've had taller bikes. The weight is hidden pretty good. The bars are wide!! Shaft drive feels strange to me after years of chain drive bikes it does have a little lift in the back when shifting. Shifting is smooth and clutch operation is not hard, felt good. I really cannot say anything bad at this point other than the kickstand seems a bit straight down and easy to tip off the lock angle. Centerstand works pretty good but again it would not take much to push it forward with the straight up angle. It's a keeper so far!!
Congrats on the new bike Roy! Interesting to hear about the fit comments. I've got the same dimensions, and hope it works out well for us shorter types.

Get out and enjoy the ride!!

I agree with Roy on the RR. I left the dealership with windshield in high, no turbulance but 104F so I lowered it later, turbulance. I put the seat on high before I left, I'm on the balls of my feet (mostly toes), I'm 5' 11" and 32" IS. The more I like this bike the sadder I am to realize I must sell the Multi12. The clincher will be the MPG, I topped the tank off last night before heading home so will know today what the first tank gets.

First 600 miles is 3900rpm and below, no sustained high rpms. No problem varying the speeds on my routes and I have been shifting to 5th for the hills. :D 3500rpm is 70mph, 3000rpm is 60.

600 mi service calls for oil/filter and final drive oil change. I will have to get some FD oil in here pronto, never had to deal with that before! The K12GT was lifetime (LOL :D).

Small adjustment on the gear shift linkage and I will be off again this morning. Will be watching for the next lucky one to post they have their bike!

I'm about a half inch shorter (I keep shrinking) and anxious to try the seat at each of the settings. When I rode a demo last year, it was on the high position and I seemed to do okay.

At 5'9" and 155 lbs I will be keeping mine in the low position. I barely make the suspension sink when I get on it now and I am no way near getting a whole foot on the ground. It has been so long since I was on a big bike that thsi will take some getting used too. My Bandit 1250 was top heavy but lower to the ground than this beast. My B-King is low and fat. It has been 5 years since I owned a V-Strom to which this bike reminds me of so much.

Just wish it was not wide open here at work so I could go ride. :'( Best to have work than no work in this economy so I need to just suck it up and work. Had two friends heading out this monring headed to Blue Ridge campground in Cruso, NC. Man I wanted to go. :(

Congrats!! I'm thinking these bikes have been here awhile if they're showing up in the South (Mississippi) before the West Coast.

Why was the Yammie Rep there? Specifically to assist in assembly? I wonder if that's going to be the norm? Do I ask too many questions.... :))

And I am very, very jealous.... :p

Not sure why they were there. I thought it was weird. I have never seen them there before. One was a sales rep the other a parts/service tech rep. Either way it worked out good having the tech rep there and he did supervise the procedure. Of course it was the 1st one he had ever seen too. Sales rep has one on order and said he would get his after all customer orders are filled. The sales rep took my picture besdie the opened crate, not sure where that will end up.

Hang in there your's is coming.

BTW my build date stamp on mine reads 6-11. So she is fresh off the press.

VERY true!!!! I have lost 40lbs since last year so I know I will not be compressing the suspension as much as before.

Just curious how many miles were on your odometers when you took delivery?

When I bought my BMW, the dealer stated my od would have 16 miles on it....explaining that 14 would be from the factory tests and 2 from his dealership mechanic.
