I tried the O2 eliminators but if anything it made it worse so i connected the lambda sensors back again,it has an Ecunleashed flash so perhaps they don't work with it,not sure to be honest

Did the flash totally cure the low speed problems?
With mine in T mode I can drop down to 2 k then pull or hold throttle no problem, in S very occasionally stutters abit but I my mind S mode is for harrasing sport bikes on twisty back roads :p

Mine's running a full arrow system (lambra sensors blanked off) CJS reflash, air screw 3/4 out & T/B's balanced

Mine will pull cleanly from about 1500rpm in 6th in either T or S mode but when you try a constant throttle setting at approx 2-2200k rpm round town it kangaroos,tb's balanced and airscrew turned out 3/4 turns. It ruins an otherwise great bike.

Thats my experience and view too. I am hoping this is just down to it running too lean in the closed loop and that the Power Commander will fix this. If not for £20 i'll try the eliminators

I fitted a couple of O2 eliminators from ebay and this made an enormous difference to the drivability of my '14 ST. Fuel consumption is about 2 mpg worse, but I'm riding it harder 'cos it's such a joy now. The eliminators just stop the bike running in closed loop at lower revs / throttle openings, so now it operates in open loop all the time using the base maps and sensors (except the O2 sensors, of course). Excellent improvement for less than £20.
Any chance of posting up a link to the eliminators and explaining what you need to do?

Don't even need to install eliminators. They're just resistors in the heating circuit of the lambda sensor. So they don't change the signal received by the ecu. Just unplug the sensors and go for a short ride to see if you like tbe change. Don't leave them unplugged for to long though because that will kill them.

I think i am sorted! :-D

I bought a second hand Power Commander V, downloaded the standard map from the Dynojet, and fitted it last weekend.

I've only had a couple of short rides so far but things seem much happier on a steady throttle. I can still feel the twin engine's character, but the fuelling seems much better.

I am no expert (in fact quite the reverse) but from having done a fair bit of reading I concluded my issue was likely to be the bike running too lean when in the closed loop (i.e. on a steady throttle, once the engine is warm - essentially when in cruising mode, for example holding a steady 30mph in built up areas).

My understanding is that the O2 optimiser that comes as part of the PCV kit makes the bike run richer in this closed loop (taking the bike closer to a 13.6:1 fuel to air ratio) - this seems have have resolved the surging issue.

I am sharing in the hope this is useful. My bike is stock and i have not been trying to get more performance, remove power restrictions etc, only to make it run smoothly.

Hope you get sorted Fraserdog and that in the meantime you get some good weather and open roads that you can enjoy.

I found upgrading my clutch basket to the Gen II version really improved low speed behavior, much smoother...

Now here is a strange thing,i took the S10 out for a ride today which is the first since i came back from my Spain/Portugal trip,as usual it lurched/surged at about 2-2500k rpm.I found myself on a bit of open road and decided to give the bike it's head and redlined it in 2,3,4th gears which i have never done before as i don't like thrashing engines and rarely take the S10 beyond 5-6krpm in normal use, anyway the upshot is when i got to the next town and had to slow speed riding the lurching/surging has all but disappeared,in fact i had to try to make it do it.What could i have done my giving the bike a thrashing that has reduced the lurching/surging? Any ideas?

Seems very strange,it's almost as it's reset something,it's not 100% better but i'd say 75% better,i'm going to take it out for a ride tomorrow and see whether it was just a "flash in the pan" or something has really changed.

I am 1500 kms into my current trip and am happy to say that the PCV has definitely resolved my lumpy issues. I think it is as simple as stopping the bike running too lean in closed loop (euro emission regs).

Not sure about your thrashing consequences Fraserdog - maybe the bike was just feeling very happy as a result ;-)

When I did my TB synced at about 12k km, I found that the barb fittings were greasy due to oil accumulation. I then shot a few burst of Carb cleaner fluids into it, hooked up the DIY manometer and let run.

Try clearing up the barb fittings and see if that helps.
