I've had a Tacklife version for about 5 years. Came with its own case and attachments. It has the USB ports and a flashlight on it. Don't know if it's any better/worse than the others. It has always worked when I needed it. I've used on the Tenere, Jeep, mower and RV.

Mine is about 5 years old, brand is TIWKICH paid $50 delivered from ebay, came with a nice case, charger and various connectors, have used it to jump start other folks stuff a couple times and it worked exactly like it was supposed to. My only complaint would be it seems like it would be pretty difficult to connect to the tiny battery terminals on a Super Tenere.
just now plugged it into the charger, had charged it a few months ago and today it still shows 100% charged.

Very valid concern.
I've carried a Antigravity XP-3 for 7 years. Never had to use it on my Tenere until about a year ago when I was on a road trip. I had stopped at a park and left the key on, came back and would not start. Connecting the jump start battery to get a good connection was very frustrating.
The posts on the battery are recessed and the jump starter clamps were very difficult to get a solid grip on the posts.

The first thing I did when I got home was to order the pigtail that has the ring terminals on one end so you can connect directly to your battery and the other end plugs into the port on the jump start battery. I tuck the pigtail in behind the cowling and it rests at the bottom edge.
So now if I need it, there's no need to remove the cowling, just pull the pigtail out and plug it into the jump start battery.

So the moral of the story is whatever jump start battery you get, try hooking it up to your bike at home first.

This has worked excellent for me. Each night camping it will charge all my ‘junk’….. for days.

This is the same thing I purchased 2 years ago but from a different eBay trader. I’ve no complaints and it has started some pretty big diesel engines too, an easy stash in one of my crashbar bags.
thanks Rob,

just what i wanted a reasonably priced one with good feed back cheers mate

Yup. I just took the rubber strap off and pulled it out enough for the clamps to bite on the posts. Little bit of a pita, but it worked. It is funny that the largest thing about these chargers are the clamps.

I think it's gonna be hard to go wrong with any of these. All are mostly made in China, but still work fine.

I also run a 2 port usb lead to my tank bag that plugs into the aux power socket which is useful for charging the phone through the day while I am away.
I guess at a push the power bank would go in the tank bag if needed for a charge whilst riding through the day. It would probably mean temporarily moving some shite from the tank bag to do so, but it’s fair to say that I’ve never had to do that - yet!

I bought one of these. It has started my trsnsporter , a couple of bikes and yesterday I used the optional led lighting to work in my loft. I’m very happy with it and good reviews.

yep got one they sell on AMAZON EC5 connector to o ring

rob
Thanks for that link Rob.
Given that 10 AWG IS 2.588mm, does anyone know off hand the thickness of the starter cable on the S10?
I’m just wondering if 9 AWG (2.906mm) or even 8 AWG (3.264mm)would be better, if that’s the case I’ll probably need to make up my own pigtail.
I had been working on if the battery went flat one night on a campsite, possibly in the middle of nowhere, the faff of taking the cover off to gain access to the battery (even with crash bar bags) is just a necessary evil to get going again. Making my own pigtail would of course mean mean changing the SAE plugs on my motopressor and heated clothing to EC5 so that I don’t have umpteen pigtails hanging off the battery.

I use the antigravity xp3 too. I’ve not had to use it yet but I’m hoping if I do I can use the Optimate tail that’s already connected to the battery. However, I’m not that confident that the Optimate charging cable would handle the sort of current required for starting so my plan B would be to connect direct to the battery.

If you have a pigtail on the bike battery to charge it with the Optimate you do not want to use that to jump start the bike. That probably has an SAE connector and would not fit in the jump start port on the XP-3 anyway.

You would need to order the 16″ Clampless Starting Harness (or the 42")
This will have the ring connectors for the bike battery on one end and the connector on the other should match the connector on the clamps that came with the XP-3. This unique connector is the only thing that will fit in the jump start port on the XP-3
