Sometime in the near future, I'd like to give my Tenere its proper "big twin" voice and pick up some midrange torque and hp while I'm at it. So far, I'm considering the Leo Vince, Akrapovic, and Staintune exhausts.
The Akra seems to be good for torque, but is terribly expensive and frankly sounds no better than stock, which is sad considering how many Akras are out there making delicious sounds on Ducatis and KTM's. So I haven't written Akra off, but it's not ideal.
I know Staintunes historically sound fantastic from my Ducati days, but they're expensive and we're still lacking for dyno charts and enough (read: any??) sound clips to get a feel for what to expect on the Tenere.
So at this point, I'm leaning towards the Leo Vince. It sounds fabulous without the baffle, not too bad with the baffle, is reasonably priced, and the dyno charts seem very close to Akrapovic's results.
However, I used to play the "repack the muffler" game and hate that, like many of you. Since the Leos seem to be fairly common, my question is how long are the repacks lasting for you in the real world before it appears that another is due?
Also, I heard some discussion that Leos without the baffle aren't turn-signal friendly. Is that true, and if so, short of putting the baffle back in, what has your solution been?
Feel free to add any other comments you feel are relevant to the experience of using the Leo Vince with the ST.
Thanks in advance. ::001::
