You're right cycledude. They are bad news too!!! Of course I am hyper aware of them after my experience and I see them loads...mostly dead but I see them loads. On average I'll see a couple per week dead in the hedge/road, and I see them live on the A40 just about every night. Its long overdue in UK that they were culled. As usual nothing gets done coz the people in cars probably dont go shouting about it and bikers...well...we dont matter it seems. Sorry....rant over. Probably still oversensitive about it coz my experience still haunts me as Im sure it does for you cycledude. 5 times...holy cow!!

Christ, drive on RT80 going through Penn. We counted 37 dead on the side of the road, and 9 within a mile of each other. That's some scary shit.

That's no lie. I lived in PA most of my life, and there are only two kinds of drivers; those who have hit a deer, and those who haven't hit one....yet.

Many times I have come around an Iowa corner and there are 3 on the shoulder eating the grass. WTF why not in a field eating corn!!!

Anyway no time to do anything but what a pucker factor! The deer just kept chewing while I went by.

BTW I have hit two on my left side. One in Northern Minnesota on my Venture Royale and one last year in central Kansas on the Ténéré. Stayed up both times. If I had been riding slower they would have been right in front of me!
