The two units my wife and I had both went back for repairs/warranty twice each, with new replacement units being returned to us. Both of those failed in the next year or so, transmitter failure on one, the other might have been ok, but between cable issues and an accidental co-ax damage we rarely had good bike to bike comm. At I personally got very tired of hearing the over powered illegal truckers blab on and on.
The design is poor and out of date, IMHO. With both my Yamahas having side mounted batteries it was always a pain to wire the J&M in, since it was designed for under seat battery and had zero understanding of how to design a head unit for a more universal use. The original design is for a GL1500, modified for use on HDs. I spent well over $1k trying to get a decent system performance only to be left with no head units and too many antennas along with some odds and ends, cables etc. to show for the last 5 years of fighting with it.
Glad you're having better luck.
