I just used the one I had and bent it over so the head unit was at the correct angle. You'll find that they want a ridiculous amount for a mount, so if you already have one, consider modifying it to work for you. IIRC, then didn't offer one specific for the Super Ten, so anything that can use the mirror mount location will work with some bending.

If you don't already have the J&M stuff, consider your needs and take a look at other options. I've been less than impressed with J&M over several years of fighting it to try and get decent performance. They don't repair their units since they are completely potted, not even to replace a damaged co-ax and the design is more suited to open face helmet riders on HDs and Wings. If you already have the J&M anyway, best of luck getting it to work for your needs.

Wow! I'm disappointed to hear that Eric. I haven't used their repair service hardly at all but the one time I did they only charged me with parts and no labor. A very different experience from yours. I've had the cb units on several bikes and have always been happy. I may just try to fab up my own before it's all over. Thanks for the input!

The two units my wife and I had both went back for repairs/warranty twice each, with new replacement units being returned to us. Both of those failed in the next year or so, transmitter failure on one, the other might have been ok, but between cable issues and an accidental co-ax damage we rarely had good bike to bike comm. At I personally got very tired of hearing the over powered illegal truckers blab on and on.

The design is poor and out of date, IMHO. With both my Yamahas having side mounted batteries it was always a pain to wire the J&M in, since it was designed for under seat battery and had zero understanding of how to design a head unit for a more universal use. The original design is for a GL1500, modified for use on HDs. I spent well over $1k trying to get a decent system performance only to be left with no head units and too many antennas along with some odds and ends, cables etc. to show for the last 5 years of fighting with it.

Glad you're having better luck.

I just used some card stock to get the hole spacing correct between the unit and the mirror post and then fashioned a mount out of a piece of sheet metal with some foam spacer.
J&M has not been the most reliable, but the issues I've have had seem to be related to the unit getting wet on my Alaska trip.
I've had a J&M CB on several bikes (FJR, ST1300 and now the Tenere) with pretty good results.

Wow - look at all of the bugs I've killed :D

Thanks for they input. Looks like the bugs didn't stand a chance.

Not sure what direction I'll take at this point. I only use the cb occasionally at best and really like my SENA stuff. Too many decisions for this early in the morning. LOL
