I know a number of folks here follow Noraly on her travels and she just dropped her start to Season 8. She's picked a 1987 Yam Tenere 600 as her new long distance bike so it'll be interesting to see how this goes.
So serendipitous. Randomly stumbled on her video today before seeing the thread.

Very interesting young lady
Settle down young man.

I really like that bike. Never saw any of those here in the USA. I didn't anyway not sure if they were even offered here. I am sure they did a great job getting that bike back into shape. I have mid 80s dirt bikes and my 98 model YZ250 there are things that I can no longer get for repairs. sure hope if that bike needs anything parts are available. I am sure things like brakes and fork seals and such are all still obtainable. Good luck to her. I just saw the video of her seeing the bike for the first time last night. She looks ready to go.

It sounds like a combo of my Tenere and TW; motor like the Tenere, the exhaust like the TW. Even has the manual choke.

Smack dab in the middle
RTWPaul had a 660, since he's from Europe, I assume. But it was a mid 2010:
Theres a 250 Tenere looking jobbie for sale on the craigslist in Oklahoma. Also found a couple on Craigslist but nowhere close to my house:

This is what you do all day when you have bad knees and it hurts to get off the couch
EDIT: I apologize, I just realized that the quote from @cyclemike4 did not attach. Just because I'm on internet all day doesn't mean I'm good at internetting.

Double the amount of CC’s and pistons is a big upgrade for her for sure! Curious to find out how she likes it. The long travel days should be much easier. Although I noticed she’s got no wind protection or a speedo whatsoever. She’ll probably add a big Navi-screen. I’m excited.

. . . . sure hope if that bike needs anything parts are available. . . .
She said it's been made from scratch. She also mentioned the wiring being changed. I doubt much of that bike is '87 anymore.

She made the comment that there was more customizing to be done. So, I have to ass-sume wind protection and speedo are in the plans.
