Issue with RH LCD Panel

Has anyone had their RH LCD panel go blank apart from the top two cells, ie gear change indicator & menu icon? Happened to me yesterday after I parked the bike, & left it for around 20mins.
Weather was drizzley rain in a strong wind. Righted itself after 10 minutes of riding.
Wondered if this is common or rare occurrence.
Bike is a 2014 ES model.
