Am I the only one checking the forum each day just dying to see one of us American buyers has been notified they're here, or at least close? I'm one month away from a major trip and I still have fantasies it will come in time for me to get it setup and take it with me. Does that make me a bad person?

I'm happy for our Canadian friends, but damn-it! I want my bike.
Oh no you're not the only one, I am in here checking several times each day for the news that we're all waiting for.
Like you, I also have a trip planned and am hoping that it will be on the Super Tenere.

I think the wait is getting to many of us. Luckily (if you want to call it luck), I have had so many other irons in the fire recently that I haven't been thinking about the new SuperT as much.

I have given up the hope that my Super Tenere will be here for my big trip. We leave next Thursday . This trip was dreamed up just because I ordered the Bike and now no bike. I guess it will be here when I get home .

I had to buy a Wee to ride We are going to Alaska!!!! :-* I just got a Email from Landon [one of us going] And he got a "Spot" So I'm hoping to post it up on here so anyone can follow our progress. There is some of them Yukoners up there I would like to ride the South Canol with but it will be hard to meat up [ I don't have a cell phone to call them when we get close.] I'll probably start a trip report and try to add to it when I get a chance up that way.

The wife and I just did a trip to the West coast and we used a spot. My Mom and Dad thought it was the greatest thing, I still have to do a trip report with lots of great pics...

I think I remember that you came through Iowa on your trip, can't wait to see your report.

Because I have a short window of opportunity to pick up the bike, I called Cypress yesterday. I spoke with a Product Specialist by the name of Erica, and she said that they have not yet received an update from Yamaha Japan, and that they still expect to "start" deliveries in August. She suggested calling back in a couple of weeks (which would be after August1!) to see if there's any updates. Personally, I'd check the middle of next week...

Switchback, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! It si also my wifes Birthday!!! So, after hearing last week the Canadians were getting there bikes this week, I mentioned to my wife about a hint of possibility of a bike being delivered today on her B-Day!!!! She said don't even think about it!!!! You won't be going to get it if it does show onn my birthday!!! I figured it was fair, but no worry now, it isn't even off the damn boat as far as we can tell!!!

Talked to my dealer yesterday, and he said that the system shows "confirmed August 2011." It just seems like there would be more specific information available by now. I then called Yammy's USA customer service line and was connected to the product specialist. All they will say is that my dealer has access to the most up to date information. When I suggested that the bikes must be enroute and that confirmation that they've left Japan would be comforting, I was told that they no longer receive information regarding deliveries until they have cleared customs and scheduled for subsequent shipment because there is always a chance that international shipments will encounter unexpected delays for countless possible reasons that cannot be foreseen.

I guess I can understand that they can, and should, be reluctant to make promises until the risk of breaking that promise is extremely low.

Yes, I have been checking the YDS data every day for quite a while and that has been the status, "Confirmed" and "Expected to ship August 2011" . The next two status updates are "at warehouse" on one screen and "invoice" on another screen. As I understand it, when it is at the warehouse, it will be invoiced to the dealer and we will have VIN's.

Lots of lead time with printed mags. I think I'll believe Yamaha's direct mailings to us and their Dealer System database, which both say August.

I am betting that they are simply going on the old info from before the last letter.

I trust the letters that yamaha sent to me more so than a magazine. And do you really think that given the way yamaha communicates (very conservatively) that they would say something like that to a magazine after they sent letters to actual buyers saying that deliveries would all be completed in august? I would seriously doubt that

Yet another reason why magazines aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

Old news. My wife regularly submits articles to print magazines and the lead time is 3 to 6 months.

Um... No. I've been checking the interwebs once or twice a day for the last two weeks trying to glean any new info. A few weeks ago YouTube had a new review from a Turkish reporter. I took that as a good sign that new bikes were actually being delivered somewhere in the world. Then I saw a post from a guy in South Africa or something like that. He had taken delivery. Now we've got news that the Canadians are getting thiers.

Like many other members, I had planned on taking some time off this summer to burn some fuel. I had already told my new/current client I would not be available after July. I was thinking I'd make a try for Inuvik or Deadhorse. The woman was already looking at flights so she could ride pillion for a week while I was in Alaska. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully, I can carve out the time next summer.

Our bikes will arrive in due time... I just hope I haven't gone completely insane before it shows up. :'(
