This S10 2012, my first new bike, had to get rid of 2 nice older bikes to afford this one, along with the nudging of a friend, and now I'm pissed off I got it.
What put it over the top (not counting the damn shudder it has) is the dealer won't return my call or emails. That really pisses me off. Now I hate this bike!
Worse purchase I've made.
Note to self: don't let a friend help you pick out a bike. Buy what you want.

It's amazing how feelings can transfer from one thing to another. If that's the case for you then find what makes you happy.

Then sell up and go away! Only kidding, I too had a similar beginning. I bought the S10 to replace a 2010 V Strom (sweet sweet motor) and eventually my beloved VZ1600. I bought site unseen, had the bike collected from the dealer (safer bet, right? wrong!) and fly back to the UK and rode it home to Zurich the next day, 900 miles. First I had to delay flying out as the headlight loom recall was not done, so had to have that done as only one light was working. Then discovered the dealer had not done the service as required per schedule, didn't even clean it for sale. They never returned my calls, or emails, finally got the details of the owner and threatened them that a drafted email will be sent unless they responded within 24 hrs, guess what, they called. I rode it back and had shudder, then in traffic discovered a delightful thing called clutch drag!!! WTF is clutch drag, having owned dozens of bikes with shaft drive, never had this issue. Hated the bike. Wife persuaded me to ride it some more then decide which two bikes I wanted to keep, 8 months later and I;m down to one bike and looking to upgrade to the '14/'15 model. Persevere, it will be worth it. ::008::

Yea, it only goes on here. Us Tenere folks are the worst. Lol
BMW folks are the real gentlemen of our passion. They say the nicest things about us over there.

Seriously, this is one of the most civilized forums I am a member of. One of the reasons I LIVE here.

And now that I have actually met 100+ of these fellas, it makes sense why.

I'll stack the Tenere, the forum, and the inmates against any of them. a
I didn't mean to imply the folks here are "uncivilized" and I would agree that for the most part they are " real gentleman", and I didn't say "BMW folks are the real gentleman"........ they're your words, not mine. Why did you find it necessary to bring BMW into the discussion?

snake you should know by now that's I no fan boy for any particular marque, if it make me smile I'll own it.

I was simply wondering why so may posts here have content about "my Tenere is better them brand X" or "the journalist don't get it"
or "a advertising drives the journalist", or "my (old) BMW was a POW so now I own a Super Tenere" etc..... It goes beyond enthusiasm, maybe more like a AA meeting. ::025::

If it doesn't make ya smile it's time to move on. life's to short to dance to someone else's music.
