Never done but they say to put it up on the center stand and run it in 1st gear (I think) for something like 15 seconds. The ABS will be off until you retart the bike.
Something like that anyway.
Anyone know the exact method ?

That works and the ABS light stays lit! But don't be alarmed when you restart it the ABS light stays on till you ride away.

Use 2nd gear; it works. I finally did it yesterday while doing an oil change. My question: Do all of these bikes have such loud drive line chatter when doing this? Holy crap there was a lot of clanking noise.

Yep, totally normal.

I need to try TC2 and stop being an all or nothing guy.
I use TC2 and T mode when I hit the dirt. When we last ran FR300, I also dropped the air pressure in the front tire to 26lbs, which really helped with the loose gravel surface (I didn't change the rear tire from street pressure, didn't seem to need it).

Just discovered how awesone it is in the dry :)

Up until now I had seen the light flick on when riding a demo on some damp roads and tested the system by deliberately riding flat-out in 1st on loose surfaces, which has always impressed me, my only other TC experience was on a GS and it is very intrusive and feels like someone turning your ignition of / on / of / on, whereas if it were not for the light you may not even know the Yamaha system has intervened.

Today I was blasting some well known back roads that have a few 2nd gear 90 degree bends and generally taking big liberties, throwing the bike in almost to peg scraping levels and then just gassing it up (with the clutch bypass mod) and you could just feel it trying to let go, but before my brain had processed it the bike had sorted it all out and again without really noticing any drop in drive, or hearing any stutter - very impressive.

Oh, and I also reckon the Tourances are way down on grip compared to the Roadsmarts I had on the GS as on the same roads at same pace I could not get them to let go, either that or the GS had a load more rear grip, will find out at some point as I have a part worn set of Roadsmarts in the Garage waiting for the OE tyres to wear out.

Still not sure how much of a safety aid it is as now I know it is there and how well it works I may use it more as a performance aid - and probably highside then next Non-TC bike I ride :-[

I know exactly what you are talking about. All that fancy electronic stuff works great, but I have other bikes that don't have it. ??? :lamp:
