Kinda looks like you crashed the bike and found some replacement fairings........and didn't find time to paint them.
Sorry but you asked. ;) -JEP-
+1 but it is your bike and as long as you're happy with it...

Red and black, yes. Blue and yellow, yes. Red and yellow are too close on the color wheel to work well together...

Great anti-theft paint job. Except from maybe a crazed Boston College fan.

Honestly, it looks like crash damage repair - junkyard style. No different than cars or trucks running around with a different color door or hood. It just telegraphs that, "I'll paint it someday..." message that we all know will never happen.

Well, my wife was rolling on floor laughing at most of the comments!! And enjoying a lot of "I told you so".....

Shucks, I like the yellow so much, but if the general consensus is that this is a no go and ugly, I guess to get some yellow, will have to do the tank also.
I can buy the tank and 2 side panels for around 1k.
Was just trying to get some yellow on the cheap, but I think the full yelllow might for sure be a better plan.

Wonder how difficult it is to swap the tank? The dealer who will get the parts says he will do the swap for 200$.
I appreciate all your honesty and help on this. You may have saved me a lot of strange looks.....

Methinks a yellow S10 with ES is a pretty cool idea, plus, when I tire of the yellow, can go back to red easily......

Once met a guy at a Goldwing rally. He had a burgundy 1100 Wing and had bought some second hand brown/bronze panniers and top box. Although functional it looked bloody aweful (bit like the S10 mock up!). Imagine his joy when he met a fellow Winger at the rally who had a brown/bronze wing with burgundy panniers and top box.

Half an hour later both were delighted to have mono coloured bikes!

Yep it's ugly ! All yellow - lovely, or all red - nice, both together - you know how some movies just look better in black and white rather than colour !

Based on the comments I probably should not admit I was considering something like that first photo.

My wife is likely getting a new Tenere in 2016 She doesn't like the yellow, but I'm good with it. I was contemplating getting her a yellow one then switching out the tank and fairings between the two bikes. That would still leave the red strip on the suspension cover on my bike, since the non-ES yellow doesn't have one of those. Maybe not as extreme as that first photo, but I would notice it.
