Made in China.

"The Chinese built Zongshen RX3 250cc Adventure Bike is on its way to the U.S., now rebadged as a CSC (California Scooter Company) Cyclone RX-3. CSC is known for small custom styled motorcycles built in their factory in Azusa, California. Now the company plans to certify the Zongshen RX3 for the United States market and rebrand it as their own."

I saw this a while back.....does that $2895 price tag include shipping from CA?....probably not.....no dealer support except in CA....hmmm think I'll pass

Its kinda heavy for the HP IMO...

A few years back I bought a cheap Chinese 150cc scooter for my wife....it really was a cheap piece of crap. I didn't mind because it only cost 1K delivered. It worked ok but for a 150 it had the power of a 50CC. I ended up selling it for more than I paid for it LOL

That looks like an XT250 with a shroud, fairing, and low fender.

How about the real deal that already exists since 2008 - Yamaha WR250R

CSC and company's like that don,t get it, they have to be a deal or forget it. It,s simple CSC for 4000 +no dealer network or Honda Grom .

This bike has been tested by the UK press to very mixed reviews. Apparently it's small, the panniers are very small and it's definitely built to a price. The UK review I've read suggests the suspension is a 'bit' underdamped and not quite up to the task... I personally would avoid anything Chinese for a while until they get their collective heads around quality, not just quantity. Very cheap though.

If you want a lightweight adv. bike in the US there are lots of examples disguised as small enduro's. The WR250R, CRF250L, DRZ250/400 etc.

All of these bikes work well as small enduro's that are light and lower to the ground. Most can even be had nearly as cheap as this Chinese bike. Not sure that a 250cc full dress ADV bike will be a hot item as all the extra bodywork and features overtax the motor too the point of it no longer being fun.

Or if you want light, small and ready to go you could opt for one of these -

Probably a lot of hassle & cost to get one to the US/Canada at the moment but certainly worth a thought if you're planning a round the world epic. It's based around a 450 single BMW engine by the way.

It would be more than a lot of hassle. Unless used ONLY as a dirt bike, it would be impossible. It has not met the EPA or NHTSA standards, so can not be sold here as a motor vehicle.
CCM is one of the half dozen big Chinese manufacturers and their products (mostly scooters) are in use around the world. When they break the code on how to bring products to the US market and effectively sell them, the Japanese are in trouble. The Japanese bikes will probably still be the higher tech bikes that are the ones to beat, but the Chinese product prices have made them a huge success everywhere they've gotten into.

Thats fine , but in the rest of the world they really cheap compared the jap bikes . Here there trying to get markup, but it,s to close to jap price to be a deal . Especially when the the frames and running gear or mostly junk , the engines and electrics are fine .

Look deeper and we are both right.

There are two CCM companies and one is Clews, which assembles parts in the UK brought in from from elsewhere. Clews is doing essentially what he did with the 230, which was a Chinese-built clone of the Honda 230.

I knew the CCM 450 adventure bike is the Clews CCM name and UK final assembly of a Chinese motor & components, but in referring to Chinese CCM, I was remembering the wrong Chinese company. The biggest part of any motorcycle is the engine and while this one is based on the Rotax designed for the BMW G450X, it is actually a lower powered Taiwanese copy made by Kymco. Christini does something similar with the 2WD motorcycles they build in PA and call American. Their clone of a Honda 450 engine is made for them in mainland China, as are a lot of other pieces. Heck, Honda used to sell a re-badged Isuzu SUV. I do think Clews designed the new 450 frame, but they are being quiet about where it is being made.

For the weight, power, and a lot less cost, there are a couple of other choices with established histories and dealer networks that I'd go for.

I have to admit that despite being very light the CCM does seem a little shy on ponies and why only a 17 litre tank ?

I know CCM are planning Canada and USA dealers, so it will be there at some point.
Price isnt cheap, but it is covered with trick bits. :)
