My Hippo Hands arrived today and I though I would pass along some pictures installed. I decided against heated grips, simply because the OEM grips were very $$ and i couldn't really get much feedback and/or pictures of the Oxford grips installed (anyone have any??). I think these will keep the wind off and let my gloves keep the fingers warm. Cost shipped was $97. Email communication was excellent and shipping was fast.

Fitment is very good around the mirror. There are two snaps and heavy Velcro.

Once the "hand" is fitted, the plastic inner layer forms a rigid entrance for your hand to go in and out of. The bottom half and top half meet together and are joined with heavy velcro.

The inside has a fleece lining. There are some small gaps at the opening of the master cylinder. There are some flaps on the "hand" that's fits into some of the gaps. I don't suspect there will be much air simply becuase its behind the windshield.

I believe when you used the fitment chart on their website, it selects the same one used for the BWM Adventure bike..

Let us know how they work. I have a problem with my hands getting really cold during the Winter months. I was wondering how these might work, and they are cheaper and less technical than are electric gloves. It's all about function.

Got these Quad Boss covers for around $30.00. Had to split the openning to go over the hand gaurds and then sewed on velcro so they could be closed back. They work great.

rode today for 30 minutes or so.. was around 45 and misty out... wore a liner glove for the first 15 minutes.. no issue.. hands stayed warm. I took the liner gloves off and went bare hands the second half of the ride and no issue as well. could not feel any wind when my hands were inside.. Also was very easy to get my hands in and out of the mitt

Anybody have a link or a picture of the oxford grips installed on a Tenere? I bet with heated grips and the mitts gloves would be obsolete..

I think the oxfords are shorter than the OEM grips?

Their website looks awful - like it was created in M$ Publisher 2000 :D...can someone confirm the actual link to one that'll work on the S10 in lieu of me emailing them?

Thanks, Jason. Considering the cost of quality winter gloves, I'd like to leverage my OEM heated grips as much as possible. I think these are the ticket!

This is the exact set up I use.

Wanted to do a follow up on the Hippo Hands...

I ended up ordering some Oxford Heaters and got them installed Saturday...took the bike out for a ride this evening for a hour or so temp shows 41 F.. I had to reduce the heat on the grips to 25% and wore mechanic type gloves and were more than warm... this combination will defiantly get anybody through much colder temps

I agree. I had heated grips and hippo hands on my Versys. Keep my digits nice and toasty with temps down in the teens. ::008::

For the Tenere, I've got too much crap hung on the bars to use hippo hands. So I opted for heated gear. It hasn't been cold enough to test, but am looking forward to it.

Is there a particular model of QuadBoss covers you are using? Do you have a link handy?

Thanks,

Chris
