On your way to everywhere, , Iowa
I spent some time on an RC8 , It was so high strung that it had to be clutched under 25 mph. Adventure bike motor, I don’t think so.

The motor will undoubtedly be re-tuned for adv bike duty.

For sale: Yamaha Tenere' Low Miles due to poor research and decision making by owner. Best offer to the new owner who will be with 99 percent of satisfied ST owners. Real motorcycle forces sale. Real motorcycle will be for sale soon too.

That's the perfect bike for you, Pete. I recommend putting your Tenere up for sale immediately, so you can be sure to snap that KTM up when it becomes available. The added benefit , which may be the best benny of all, is that you won't have to hang around all of us delusional Tenere fan boys anymore. All of the fallacies about cost of ownership, quirks and sticker price are way overblown anyway....SCRATCH THAT! KTMs have NO faults. This bike is superior to the Super Tenere in every way, shape and form.

I urge you to sell now and get yourself on a waiting list ASAP. Don't let this opportunity pass you by. 8)

Love the edit, Midlife.

For sale: Yamaha Tenere' Low Miles due to poor research and decision making by owner. **WARNING: Speed bumps must be crossed with a diagonal approach because of the slammed cruiser-like ground clearance. Rider must carry absorbent pads in case all oil is lost in a supermarket parking lot. Seller cannot guarantee safe off road riding due to the chopper-like sweep of the handle bars** Best offer to the new owner who will be with 99 percent of satisfied ST owners. Real motorcycle forces sale. Real motorcycle could be for sale soon after that. WANTED: Motorcycle research specialist for temporary work in helping me properly reseach my next ride as well as someone who can help me confront my fear of riding large bore motorcyles off road

Not often you see people on a forum help write for sale ads for people. Great people here, never find a bunch of nicer folk, always willing to help. ::008::

We had a guy in our neighborhood nobody could stand. When he sold his house, we all helped him pack up before he could change his mind.

When I was shopping for a replacement for my Multistrada 1200, I visited the KTM dealer. Tried the Adventure - nice enough - and the SMT - nice 17 inch wheels but no room on the seat for two up. I decided against the Adventure because the wheel sizes mean that there are only two dual purpose tyre makes available in those sizes in the UK and no road tyres. The dealer said "Yeah, KTM are aware of people like you and will be bringing out a new road focussed Adventure for 2013" I don't know which rep bullshitted him but road focussed with the same wheels as before - I don't think so. On the other hand, they'll need to have done a LOT of retuning on the LC8 motor if it's going off-road. Sounds like the worst of both worlds. I'm glad I settled on the S10.

I like also the idea they have: an off road ABS who only acts in the front wheel
Bhoehaha, Yamaha has an Offroad able ABS on both wheels, and just one handle to grab them both, aybody complaining about triggering the S10 ABS hasn't got a clue about the use of the front lever offroad, and should take a driving course. ::022::
