Anyone know where to get one that fits the S10 and where do you mount it? I have a decent $24. one on my GS but it won't fit on the sqaure sub frame of the S10. Thanks.
I got this from my dealer. It may have come on a Yamaha bike or from tucker rocky.RED CAT said:Anyone know where to get one that fits the S10 and where do you mount it? I have a decent $24. one on my GS but it won't fit on the sqaure sub frame of the S10. Thanks.
I like the look of this one and the position. Hard to see exactly how it attaches though.japako said:I got this from my dealer. It may have come on a Yamaha bike or from tucker rocky.
It can be keyed to your ignition key..
Sorry, no close up pics. It is flat on the bottom and has a small locating pin and a hole for a machine screw. I drilled a small hole for the pin and a hole for the screw. Then tapped the large hole and bolted it down.X5 said:I like the look of this one and the position. Hard to see exactly how it attaches though.
Darn I missed that, no wonder they seemed like a good deal... looks like $70 fora pairfredz43 said:That link is for the brackets only. Locks not included.
I did not get a bracket with mine... One of the techs gave two and charged me 5 bucks for the key. Still a pretty good deal.. ::025::Mellow said:This looks like what you have Jim, these have an additional bracket - connected where you connect yours - to attach to the racks they make but you could just take that off and have the same one you do.
I am using one of these as well.mobyfubar said:I've been using one of these for years, moved it from my last bike to the Ténéré:

looks good. Will it work if you have OEM luggage?japako said:I got this from my dealer. It may have come on a Yamaha bike or from tucker rocky.

Am I missing something or isn't it just a case of easily removing two licence plate bolts and walking away with two helmets? Should take about 30 seconds? ???mobyfubar said:I've been using one of these for years, moved it from my last bike to the Ténéré:

I must have missed something.. How would the cable stop a thief from cutting the straps on a helmet?Checkswrecks said:If even that much time.
My whole issue and the original reason I went to using a cable lock was because I had a very expensive new helmet stolen from one of these locks. The thief simply cut the strap to leave me with the D-rings and he had a new helmet for the cost of sewing on a piece of strap.
It was only later that I realized the benefit of being able to also leave the jacket to go for a walk without the gear.
