Anyone know where to get one that fits the S10 and where do you mount it? I have a decent $24. one on my GS but it won't fit on the sqaure sub frame of the S10. Thanks.

I got a lock off of a Yamaha cruiser, had it rekeyed to my ignition key and mounted it on the under side of the rear rack.

I got this from my dealer. It may have come on a Yamaha bike or from tucker rocky.
It can be keyed to your ignition key..

I just use a bicycle cable lock.
I can lock two helmets PLUS two jackets by running it up one sleeve of each. (or a jacket and overpants) It's small, self coiling for storage, and easily goes under the seat or in the top box.

I used to have a steel cable with a small thimble loop at each end, made for a few bucks from common hardware store items. Lift the seat, slip the loops into anything that held the loops, re-install the seat, walk away.

I like the look of this one and the position. Hard to see exactly how it attaches though.

Sorry, no close up pics. It is flat on the bottom and has a small locating pin and a hole for a machine screw. I drilled a small hole for the pin and a hole for the screw. Then tapped the large hole and bolted it down.

To get to the screw head, the lock needs to be open. You will need a key for that or have a locksmith re-key for your ignition key.
It works great and I like the helmet low and not open as much.

This looks like what you have Jim, these have an additional bracket - connected where you connect yours - to attach to the racks they make but you could just take that off and have the same one you do.
I did not get a bracket with mine... One of the techs gave two and charged me 5 bucks for the key. Still a pretty good deal.. ::025::

the Twisted Throttle Helmet Guardian is cool, but i really like the bicycle lock idea. being able to keep two helmets and two jackets secured with the bike is awesome.

Am I missing something or isn't it just a case of easily removing two licence plate bolts and walking away with two helmets? Should take about 30 seconds? ???

If even that much time.

My whole issue and the original reason I went to using a cable lock was because I had a very expensive new helmet stolen from one of these locks. The thief simply cut the strap to leave me with the D-rings and he had a new helmet for the cost of sewing on a piece of strap.

It was only later that I realized the benefit of being able to also leave the jacket to go for a walk without the gear.

I must have missed something.. How would the cable stop a thief from cutting the straps on a helmet?

They are only one level of security, like a bike cover... if someone walks up and thinks they can just grab and go they'll be deterred and perhaps that short amount of time will cause them to walk off and that's that... If someone really wants it, they can have it, gives me an excuse to get a new helmet ... woohoo.

It's more of a convenience for me, an easy place to attach it with SOME level of security.
