Hey guys and gals,

Picking up my 2013 Tenere this week and have been spending some time on this board researching. You guys have a great place and I'm digging the wealth of information here.

I've been riding for over 20 year and I'm recently coming off a 14,000 mile stint on a BMW F800GS. I wanted to go up in displacement for the highway rides and decided on the S10.

Nice meeting you all.

One more BMW convert. You'll be amazed at the lack of dealership visits you'll be doing with the Yamaha!

Thanks for the welcomes everyone. I loved the 800GS, it was a fantastic ride. Little lacking on the highway but I took her into the dirt a few places I was surprised she went with no issues. The front suspension was probably the biggest issue for me and the absolute violent jerking of the bars in the dirt was tough to swallow. What really sealed the deal for me though was the 12k mile service, almost $700 because of the valve check ???

The BMW guys were decent dudes, but the service costs were just impossible. On to bigger and better things and another 14k miles!

Hi Angry! I'm looking for Super T fellas to ride with my brother in Vegas. He just got a used 2012 and is dying to get out. I'll get him on here and you guys can connect someplace (he doesn't want to go to Colorado alone and I live in KY...)

Enjoy your new ride!

Sounds good Buddha. I have a handful of friends I ride with and we do a pretty good amount of day trips. Either out to Red Rock, Charleston, or Valley of Fire to the Lake then back again. Also do some overnight camp trips so the more the merrier.

Welcome aboard. I've had my Super Tenere for a little over a year and have really enjoyed the dirt roads around Vegas. Coming off the BMW I guess I don't need to tell you how much fun the riding can be around here. Hope to see you out on the road some day.

Hey Joneil,

I agree, I sometimes think the dirt roads around here are more fun than the streets. Vegas is like an island, you ride in one direction and have to swim back to shore the other direction. There are very few loops or quality roads that take you out and lead you back to home without backtracking. Lee Canyon to Kyle Canyon is one but it's short and really can only be done so many times. If you ever want to take a day trip let me know!

Welcome on, AngryRed. You're gonna have to change that handle to HappyRed pretty soon. Awesome bike. Anyway, greetings from the Yukon, and ::004:: to the Forum. R. ::022::

Small group of us are doing Wheeler Pass Saturday. We're meeting in Cold Creek at 8:00. You're welcome to come along. Odd assortment of bikes and riders. Nice and easy riding. No crazy stuff.

Ah I've been shooting up at Cold Creek a few times. Unfortunately I have plans with the family this week but that would be an awesome first ride.

Nice! Love the white...

And I'll add my welcome from a (former) Las Vegan. I agree with you on the minimal roads fro rides in the valley. I was spoiled coming from California...

One last thing, 14K miles is barely broken in on the Tenere...

Hey Angry. I too am a new member to this community of S10 riders and welcome you. I have tentatively signed up for the Ouray roundup. Are you interested in that trip?

To all, please keep TwoLukes in mind when you do any local rides! Thanks, Luke

Good morning AngryvRed and fellow Las Vegas S10ers. Two Luke's here checking in also. My brother, UncaBuddha, has so nicely introduced me to the Vegas Riders, that I thank him. Please keep me posted when you guys do a local ride. As a school teacher here, I'm off for the summer, so a lot of days are free. I'm heading to the rally this Sunday and will stay the week, but after that . . .
I'm glad to see there are several of us here in the valley that like to ride and look forward to meeting all of you!
