Greetings and Salutations from Friendswood, near Houston, TX. I’m Art.

Yesterday, I purchased a splendidly farkled, low mileage, scratch free 2015 S10 ES. This is my first bike of the Adventure genre, and honestly, I was expecting the riding experience to be “meh” at best. I was wrong.

After only 45 minutes in the saddle, I know I’m going to love this machine. My beloved FJR must go.

Now, if I can only figure out how to remove the blasted right-side panel from under the AltRider crash bar...

Welcome from Joshua. Many here have ditched the FJR for the Tenere. There's also plenty of members here that have the Altrider bars. They should be able to tell if you can remove the panel w/o loosening/removing the bar.

Yes, no problem. Slide it towards the tank. Left side not possible but there is nothing for maintenance there.

Welcome from Ms. Art. I stuck a strip of the soft side of black Velcro on the inside of my Altrider bars. You can slide it against it when removing the side panel without scratching it up. I haven’t had my right side bars off in years. It’s a little bent in.
