Well, hello everyone. I just, as in today, picked up my brand new 2020 Super Tenere. Back in 2019 I test rode one on 3 different occasians, and I liked it back then. The problem in 2019? I had just mid-lifed my way into a Tracer 900 the year before, from a 2011 VStrom 650. Anyway, long story short, divorced, mid life crisis, settled down, remarried to a woman that likes to ride, and the Tracer is great fun. It's just not great for 2-up riding; at least from the comfort side. All right, all caught up. If you haven't ridden a CP3 engined bike, lets just say they're fun. Very spirited. I've personally ridden the Tracer, the XSR900, and the Niken. I've traded 3 bikes before this, and the Tracer was the first one I was sad to see go; it is such a fun engine and bike.
On the hunt for a S10, I found myself several new old-stock 2020 and 2019 S10's across dealers in my area, and settled on a 2020 which I was able to talk down some, and here I am. Picked her up this morning, and took her for a nice gentle 140km run in touring mode. I can't wait to finish that break in period, so I can actually ride it. The ones I demo rode were of course broken in already, and I was impressed by how fast and fun the S10 was, especially compared to my Tracer. Today, I was going really easy on her, so it was boring, though in a comfy way the Tracer never was.
I'm 6'7", so if anyone has some good suggestions on reasonable mods to make her fit a little better I would love to hear them. I will be hunting down some risers / pull backs, but failed to notice the odd bolt pattern on the stock risers. My Rox pull backs, 1.25" up and 1.25" back, won't work with that strange bolt pattern. I suspect my big thing will be either the seat, or look to lower the pegs / controls.
