Solo here, too. I'm giving some serious thought to just removing the rear seat, rear foot pegs and foot peg brackets and the heat sheild all together. I will have the Wasp muffler in flat black, so I think it will look good. I'll know for sure if I'll keep it that way after I get a feel for how much heat comes off of that Wasp can.
I got a set of Givi racks with a pair of E21's and will only install them when I need to carry stuff. I may eventually buy a set of Trekkers or E36/45 if I begin to feel cramped since those will fit right onto the same racks. I like the option of having small cases for just kicking around town. I also got one of those Joe Rocket Sport tank bags so I will often just have that for my phone and incidentals.
I also may make a bracket to attach the lower front of each rack to that attaches to the frame cross member just below the seat. That would enable me to just leave all of the other stuff off.
