Fuel leaking

There you go with "mutilate" again.

I might mod my bike, but I always avoid mutilating it.

Seriously, I thought about this mod a few times. But I stop to pee or buy something to eat\drink anyways. So the extra 10 miles would only matter during a grind-run to me.

Besides, I have spent more than a few miles on a 99 miles to reserve VTR. Compared, the S10 is a friggin camel.

I can understand the mutilate comment, I got a bit over zealous when putting holes the tank filler restrictor, and ended up putting a pin hole in the bottom of the tank, causing the fuel leak. My bad.

I hated that stupid filler neck (I finally cut mine out completely), and wanted as many holes as possible to get greater range. I ride with a couple guys that have BMW adventures with 8 gallon tanks. So I wanted as much fuel as the tank would hold.

Mutilate or modify at your own discretion. Your mileage may vary.

A few of us have run the bike until it quits on the side of the road and then filled the tank to the bottom of the filler neck (as Yamaha recommends). We could only get about 5.75 gallons in. You can squeeze another 0.3 gallons in if you burp/blip the tank full which is much easier to do, of course, if you've modded the internal filler neck.
