New 2023 MSRP = $16,299 with a number available on Cycletrader. One at Woods in New Braunfels, not too far away from San Antonio.

It sounds way high to me. Like robp posted, it's about 3 grand above new prices. I know there are dealers out there who think an F150 is now worth 90 grand, and apparently that mindset is tricking down to individual sellers.

Misprint maybe. Or did the dealer screw him over and now he's trying to get out from under it?

Might be one of those situations where they got him for $3000K of freight, prep, doc fee, wipe down, and first oil change included with a 10% loan...... Never know............

Something else struck me as weird. I don't think I've ever seen someone advertising a motorcycle for sale who made it a point to list "manual transmission" as a selling feature. Is that some sort of Facebook Marketplace thing? I haven't been on Facebook since 2013, so I may have missed something.

Looked in Cycle Trader and the closest I found to this geographically is a 2021 ES in Houston with about 7K miles for $13,499. Other 2021s listed were in same general price range, $13-15 K). This guy nay have to hang onto this as a collectible (hard to find with an "original Yamaha rear drawer). The description with his post says "
Seller's Description
Excelente motocicleta practicamente nueva. Solo 3000 millas de recorrido, muy bien cuidada, con cajón trasero original Yamaha, Protector de motor en acero marca Yamaha, la vendo por que debí someterme a una cirugía que me impide disfrutarla por ahora. Excellent practically new motorcycle. Only 3,000 miles traveled, very well maintained, with original Yamaha rear drawer, Yamaha brand steel engine protector, I am selling it because I had to undergo surgery that prevents me from enjoying it for now. "

Yea, market place ask you this in their little "make it easy" form.... it's a normal FB deal...

. . . . made it a point to list "manual transmission" as a selling feature. . . .
I saw that and was wondering that with the advent of DCTs, if this may be necessary. Yeah, I remember the ol' Hondamatic, but this, I'm hoping, is completely different.

What makes it even funnier is the number of times I've seen bike models listed as "automatic transmission" that have never had that option.

I have been riding my FJR some. A feller at work asked about buying it. I shot him a low price just to see if he was interested. It doesn't get ridden a lot at my house and I thought it is ashamed to waste such a nice bike sitting so why not sell it. My bike is running on a rebuilt title so that hurts the resale some but I know the feller and don't mind letting him have it cheap if he wants it. I know he wants it just a matter of money for him. haha. Any way I was looking at adds for the same bike with the same mileage as mine. Most were asking 4 to 5 thousand dollars! I thought that was a bit high but I saw one asking 12000! I thought what the heck! that has to be a typo! It was a 2005 FJR! the world has gone completely crazy. I don't know how anybody pays for anything any more.

Bikes are all over the place now. I always look at FB and Cycle trader and get a feel for what they a going for before I list something but there is always the outliers. Some are insane but every once in a while you'll see a good deal. People know it and it doesn't last long. Being a sufferer of multiple hobbies, I see this in all items. Guitars and amps are horrible too especially here in Nashville. I'd rather list it at a decent price and get it gone.
