Well I have had the bike 11 days and I thought it was about time I did a ride report. Well the first two days I did 800 km; honestly the bike was just ok. Ya it has lots of power and handled the twisties like nothing I have owned before. That was kind of cool coming from a Harley (for the past 12 years). I did own a WEE for 2 years on road only. I have no problem with the heat on the left side and no problem with wind buffering. I do have the Wasp Windscreen Bracket but I found it wasn't too bad before the install. Well today I went for a short ride just north of me. I passed a snow mobile trail and did a u turn and thought I would give it a try in the trails (no skid plate or crash bars). Well about 20 mins into the trail the rain started. It came down in buckets. The trail turned to mud, puddles over a foot deep and about 50 yards in length. One thing I can say; the Alpinestars Gore-Tex did an amazing job. They filled up with water and never leaked a bit. Anyway, back to the bike with the traction control on I wasn't going anywhere. The bike just bogged down in the mud. Turned it off and holy shit I was totally amazed, amazed I did not dump the thing. Took me over an hr to get back out of the trails. Still pissing with rain, did about 2 hrs of gravel side roads. Man I love this bike! it is so true, the more you ride it the better if gets. BUTT what I realized about this bike is it gives me so much confidence that it is dangerous. Why is that? well I have no experience riding at 120 km/h on gravel roads in the pissing rain but it did put a big smile on my face. This bike made me feel like it was my first bike when I was 16, a Suzuki 185. I have had a few Japanese bikes over the years and Harley's for the past 12 and nothing comes close to the smile factor the Super Tenere has. Any way when I did get home I was knackered; I felt like the 53 year old I am not the 16 I thought I was.
