Only one thing.
I bought the bike used with the Woody's Wheels Works mod, the 21" front 18" rear rim.
It rubbed a hole in the crotch of my swing arm, tire heated up tire expands tire rubs swing arm rim gets to much pressure on it because of the rubbing the spokes get pulled and cracks the spoke nipple mounting points at the rim.
Woody replaced new rim same thing, then woody replaced rim to 17" all is good and happy..
And extra bonus am able to use tubeless tires of all kinds now.
I don't mess with to many toys, I do need a good skid plate but other than my plastic Doskocil Gun/Camers side bags mounted onto Happy Trail's mounts and home brewed needed items I installed I am happy.
Have the Eastern Beaver 3 fuse block and heated gear to install, no garage to cold to mess with on the porch and am planning to get a flash on my ECU before Summer.
Oh and for me the OEM handle bars are a Carpal tunnel syndrome nightmare waiting to happen.

Thanks for the heads up. I was considering one.
Hi guys - appreciate the feedback. We've been working with DS Bike on updates to the raid toolbox to improve waterproofness and fitment. I'll post some detailed pictures of the new box and a video in the Vendors forum as soon as I can get them uploaded. Unfortunately, I have to agree that the previous generation boxes could allow water ingress when ridden in the rain over time, and Ziploc baggies are recommended for anything that needs to stay 100% dry.

Thanks!

I just got mine last week. Looks pretty damn watertight to me but I have yet to install it.

If you can get the water leak issue resolved, I am a buyer in waiting. :)

OK ... slow to reply and wake the thread back up ... what can I say

2012

EB PC-8 - yes, this is a keeper hands down

Yamaha side deflectors - meh, PO put them on and they work but they also reflect sun into my eyes viciously at times - going to give them the flat black spray pain treatment when I get off of my arse else they get an eviction notice

Jesse's - hell yes, keepers, dumped this pig on them hard and barely scratched them - ridden through F&^%'in monsoon wet weather and my mac book pro was dry as the Sahara

KTM heated grips - yes - others are cheaper but these have a great control and have lived to tell the tale. And for F's sake they don't take half of the handle bar space up and do what they are supposed to when they are supposed to - heat my hands. A bit hard but deal. ::024::

Tech Spec snake skin - meh - works, has stayed on, whatever, PO installed and I'm to lazy to care either way

Givi crash plate - I should put this up for sale - kind of wimpy here in CO, took off immediately and replaced with Rumbux .. speaking of manly

Rumbux - very manly - granite runs and hides from this monster - this is what skid plates all aspire to be - do not F&^% with South African engineering - I cry a little every time an oil change is due but on the other hand the oil pan is still in one piece - all other skid plates should be on notice

Caribou luggage - meh - took it off and replaced with Jesse - I prefer top load - nothing wrong here just personal preference - well made stuff - PO put it on and I rode for a season and swapped it out

Kaoko throttle lock - PO installed - still on there but I prefer my $30 Go Cruise - save the money and get the Go Cruise

SW Motech bar risers - yes - irrelevant which brand of riser - if your shoulders, elbows or wrists hurt fiddle with the ergos - $$ well spent - to each his own but at 6'2" I need taller than stock or my shoulder just want to die

SW Motech crash bars - yes, these are great so far and allow easy removal of the side panels to get to the fuses etc - but the black ones do get scratched when you drop a 600 pound bike on them on granite - oops

MFW foot pegs - yes - PO installed - I like these - I moved to a different spot on the Rumbux that works better for me after I installed the Rumbux - these are great - they have been smacked pretty hard a few times on granite and keep on ticking - they did spin on the mounts a few times but lived and are still just fine

MRA Vario windscreen - love this thing and the adjustable deflector is just the thing for me - PO purchased and installed - I was indifferent at time of purchase - actually like this a lot more than I figured

Mad Stad - hell yes - keep this, get this - in summer -- change to dump air on myself, during cooler times and rain -- raise the shield and keep the cold or rain off - adjustable while riding - fine tune buffeting - doesn't solve all buffeting issues but worth it none the less - works great with the Vario

Fenda Extender - PO installed - as others have noted it catches on skid plates - destroyed on a rock - its a motorcycle people - you are gonna get wet and dirty so get on with it - if you want to throw away $$ I will give you my paypal account and you can send me the $$ and save the boards the bitc^'in

Ride On Adv sidestand thing - again with the PO - it works but this is the original version - I am so so on it - it adds too much height and weight and makes the stand tricky to put down at times - if I ever get over to my friend with a welder this year I will do something else - this and all of its brood are too damn pricey for what they are - if you live in San Francisco or park on hills like that you are crazy to use this thing

Mitas E07 - not the Dakar version - these tires rock in the dirt and loose gravel - took 700 or so miles to get their road manners on the highway but now I will push them to their limits ... or mine which usually comes first -- and FWIW they handle standing water like a champ on the highway

S10 paper manual - very handy in the shop b/c my ipad hates motor oil - there is a digital version that can be found - keep a copy handy on your phone or other gadget

Powerlet tankbag kit - just instaleld this on my Wolfman Ranier? tankbag - why did I wait so long?

Still to come in a pile on the bench - LED aux lights (could headlights suck less on a m/c than the stockers?) and the Penske I picked up from snakebitten over a year ago .. and some other bits and pieces

I have one - the Yamaha "tall" windscreen! Purchased it with high expectations, then rode about 2 miles with it an it was worse than stock. Not a little worse but big time ridiculous. It vectored the airflow right into my face. Took it back and got 100% credit.

Bought an MRA Vario and all is good. ::008::
Wish I could have tried the Vario but got the tall Yamaha. It does vector the air into your face, but it's smooth's out the air vs. the stock which buffets the air all around you. I prefer smooth over buffeting anytime. I can even ride with my visior cracked open. Could hardly ever do that on any bike.

"Givi crash plate - I should put this up for sale - kind of whimpy here in CO, took off immediately and replaced with Rumbux .. speaking of manly"

I've been looking for skid plate. This forum has been most helpful for me as I don't have the money to try farkles. Looks like the GIVI is better than the stock and better than nothing. If you want to sell it, send me a PM. I have the 2013.

Been a while so adding a couple;

1) ASV Shorty levers - Should have gone with standard length. The clutch pull has become noticeably more stiff as there doesn't feel to be as much leverage using only two fingers.
2) Fastway Adventure Pegs - Even with the short "screws", too aggressive unless you ride in muddy conditions . Makes going from ball of foot to center of foot to shift difficult in that you have to pick up your foot.. I like the bigger peg as it spreads the load better when standing. But would rather something else

So far no regrets but for those with pipes too loud let me know if you want to sell. I am planning an Arrow header and haven't decided on the pipe yet. Louder the better.
My wife thinks the Tenere is a bit wimpy sounding compared to my old M109.

Oxford heated grips....mine are crap. The right one works great, but the left one works probably 40% of the time. If it wasn't such of a pain in the butt to take off, they would be gone...I would not recommend them.

Rusty - The problem is that the left one has the heat sucked into the metal handlebar. While it would require the hassle of removing the grip, the old trick for those heaters has been to wrap the bar with wide electricians tape before putting the heater on, and then the grip.

That might work on stock bars. In order to install Oxford (Adventure model) heated grips on my Pro Taper bars, I had to file down the knurling on the left bar end and chamfer the inside of the left grip a little to get them on. Point being, on my setup there is no way to add insulation to the bar. Fortunately, my heated grips work very well.

sounds like you got a dud set.
I'm on my 3rd set. The tenere ones have worked great. 50 thousand KM and counting.
My FZ09 had them with no issues, and the new FZ07 has them as well.

This wasn't something I had on the S10 but was something on my old bike. I love riding but HATE wind at high speed. I got them sensitive ears and even with hearing protection, it still gets to me. This was a big issue on my old Ninja 650 since a sport screen is really low. I decided to buy a Zero Gravity Touring Windscreen. It helped a little but wind was still a major issue.

The reason I regret buying that damned windscreen is because it's shaped to f**k your s**t up. Seriously, did no one at ZG think to redesign this in a way to not be so ridiculously good at directing heat? Yes, they have a "this windscreen may magnify light" warning but holy cow is it good at that. 3 hours in the sun? Whelp, there goes your cluster assembly! All the markings on the black plastic is from being melted by the windscreen. If you know how to read a sundial, then you can probably figure out at what times of the day each marking is from.

Careful, the S10 windshield will do the same if left in the sun for hours in the wrong spot. I stuff a towel between the shield and instrument cluster to keep the magnified rays off the plastic.
