Well, the Winglets finally arrived. Construction is pretty solid. The holes don't line up with the holes on the bike and I can't for the life of me figger out how the provided hardware is supposed to hold them to the bike. So, it's either return them or start trimming and find some decent hardware and correct fitting grommets. I paid $50.00. RevZilla wants $100.00.
More as this develops.
Probably best to just return them so it winds up costing the seller some money , next time he might make sure to actually ship the correct parts.

They're $265 CAD from the dealer...which is nuts. Anybody have any input on the Chinesium ones from Ebay for a 14+ S10? I found a link on here for the Slipscreens deflectors which works, but when you actually just search their site they don't seem to be available. I have emailed them to see if they still make them. I don't even actually pick up my new bike until later this week but I'm already shopping for farkles lol.

Thanks all.
I have the deflectors made by Slipscreen for the past 5 years and they are excellent quality, however, I have just looked on their site and the S10 deflectors are no longer listed, whether they could be persuaded to make a set, I really don’t know but they are only about 60 miles away from me.

shop@slipscreens.co.uk

maybe worth an email?

What did they send for hardware, the wel-nuts? You do know you put the rubber wel-nuts in the holes in the bike from the outside, then put the screws through the winglets and into the wel-nuts. That was something I had to figure out the first time. Do you have Gen 1 (3 holes in winglet) or Gen 2 (2 holes in winglet)? My Gen 1 winglets from Amazon went on without any issues.

Those don't look that far out of alignment. Have you tried inserting the well-nuts into the frame and then seeing if the screws, which should be a little smaller than the openings in the deflector thus giving some adjustment, can then thread into the wel-nuts? If not, then I'd follow Cycledude's advice above and return them.

Are the well nuts designed to be compressed and expand as you tightened them to act as a grommet?
Yeah, you stick the barrel of the wel-nut through the hole. The broad shoulder then sits between the winglet and the frame. Then as you tighten the screw the back side of the wel-nut compresses outward to snug it in the hole. Don't tighten the screws so much that you crack the plastic in your winglet (don't ask how I know that).

If I trim a little bit off the bottom of the winglet, the holes will line up.
Whoa, I see your problem now. I was looking at the lateral alignment of the holes but can see how the bottom of the winglet would not allow it to fit above the "ledge." You should return these for a refund instead of trying to trim them to fit. There are so many different funky vendor names with strange vowel combinations selling on Amazon that it's hard to pick out reputable sellers. This is the vendor I bought my Gen 1 deflectors from and it looks as if the winglets are cut correctly to fit on the postings pictures (although a bit higher priced than the ones you bought):

Well, that explains the well nuts! A table of our finest meats and cheeses is being prepared in your honor. Thank you!
I've trimmed enough windscreens in my day, I think I can make this work. I've only got $50.00 into this. Two beer job.
