They're $265 CAD from the dealer...which is nuts. Anybody have any input on the Chinesium ones from Ebay for a 14+ S10? I found a link on here for the Slipscreens deflectors which works, but when you actually just search their site they don't seem to be available. I have emailed them to see if they still make them. I don't even actually pick up my new bike until later this week but I'm already shopping for farkles lol.

Thanks all.

I have the Generation 1 deflectors on my Generation 2 Tenere, all I had to so was cut about 1 1/2 inch off the front end of the deflectors.

I'd guess that, even in the realm of crappy Temu and Aliexpress products that flood the market, the Chinese manufacturing industry should be able to handle simple injection molding. Fourteen bucks sounds like a safe gamble for wind deflectors.

Yup. Buying cheap knock-off wind deflectors are one thing. Buying a bike with one of their motors is a whole different story.

That's my belief as well, but I've been disappointed more than once when relying on this assumption haha.

That would be my take on it. While I might be willing to buy a Chinese made bike, I would never buy one with the idea that it'll be sitting in my garage a decade from now with 100,000 miles on the odometer. It would be more like "how much am I willing to pay for a bike that I'll happily bash the beejeezus out of for a summer or two before it dies?".

That's true, Doc, even something as simple as an injection molded deflector could be a waste if they made it with some bizarro plastic that cracks the first time you hit a bump. But, given the two options of $14.00 on one hand and $265.00 on the other, fourteen bucks seems like acceptable risk. If it's junk, so what, you're only out fourteen bucks, but if it works adequately, hey, major win.

I'm my eBay deep dives looking for stuff, I'm often amazed at the number of what are obviously the same Chinese made product being sold at wildly different prices. Shopping at the bottom shelf can be fun! :)

I have OEM, and my buddy has the chinese copies. His are tinted and quite a bit thicker, likely stronger. But the mounting hardware is cheesy, wellnuts literally fell apart after one season but they are easy to replace with better quality.

That's been another of my experiences with some Chinese products. The sometimes seem like projects that were finished in a rush. It's like "well, the main part is finished and looks great, but holy crap the buyer wants this lot in two weeks, where'd we put the hardware rejects bin?".

I've had some great experiences with Chinese stuff. I had one of their helmet comm units for a couple years that worked pretty well, and only paid $90 for a set. They weren't Cardo, but holy crap, they weren't 500 bucks, either.

Oh, I understand that in today's world what you see is not always what you get. And my hesitation has nothing to do with politics, just experience. Wind deflectors from China are perfectly fine, especially for what they're charging. Investment v. Reward. Chinese motors in BMW or KTM bikes bug me because those BMWs and KTMs are just as expensive as those without Chinese motors. That being said, German engineering doesn't seem to be any better than Chinese engineering, just more expensive.

I also remember when Japanese cars were considered, sometimes correctly, as inferior to American made. Over time that was proven incorrect. Maybe in time the same will happen with product made in China.

I just ordered the OEM wind deflectors for my '23 from Revzilla for $90 usd. Says one to two week wait so I'll have to be patient. They may not deal north of the border. There are two part numbers for the Gen 1 & 2.

Yep, Gen 1 screens have three mounting points per side and Gen 2s only the back two.

Good to hear. Amazon just advised me the wings won't be here until next week now. Oh well.
I've noted how careful.one has to be in the checkout process. Amazon will say one or two days in their posting, but in the checkout it may default to the next week if you don't select the next or following day. Even with Prime, you have to make sure you select the one or two day option because it will still default to the jext week option. They caught me on that and I canceled my order and then reordered choosing the next day button and git my order faster.

I have the Slipscreens Deflectors on my 2014.
They are super durable and fit/function just like the OEM ones.
I did purchase them from the Slipscreens seller via ebay-UK, so you might want to look there.
Shipping did not take very long to the USA (maybe 2-weeks at most)

Well, the Winglets finally arrived. Construction is pretty solid. The holes don't line up with the holes on the bike and I can't for the life of me figger out how the provided hardware is supposed to hold them to the bike. So, it's either return them or start trimming and find some decent hardware and correct fitting grommets. I paid $50.00. RevZilla wants $100.00.
More as this develops.
