This one takes the cake as the most expensive ES that I've seen. $19,700 out the door.

This picture was sent to me as "proof" that the Super Tenere and GS are within $1,000 of each other, a topic which came up over the weekend.

CRAZY.....
Yes, it is crazy. It really is too bad that they charge so much for the bike. The price certainly, doesn't help sales of the model.

I do acknowledge that one should go into a dealership informed, however not everyone is savvy enough to do research online to determine a good purchase price. And that should not be a permission slip for a dealer to gouge a buyer.

My '15 ES went out the door for $15,700 tax, license. dealer set up and destination charges all included. That dealer is depending on an uniformed buyer.

You wonder what the sales person would say if asked about the fees?

I doubt I'd bother having the conversation with a dealer willing to do that to their customer. Take my $$ to a friendlier place.

My 2015 was $16600 Canadian out the door. Today that would be $12573 US. PDI and freight charges are bullshit.

Taiwan and some other countries pay 100% tax of the full retail price n TAX, plus the full retail price, plus transport, setup, etc. Basically over 2X the full retail number.

The difference is that everyone in those countries is burdened by the same tax fees.
Absurd freight and PDI charges are at the discretion of the dealer. I've know dealer to inflate the "asking" price, then offer a significant discount to make the buyer feel he's gotten a GREAT DEAL. That type of marketing doesn't work for me, I take my business else where.
