Can anyone tell me what exhaust they put on their bike and if they like them.

I'm looking for the can replacement without any mapping needed. A more throatier sound but still quiet on the hwy.

Thnaks...I did a spost earch and did not find anything just mapping info...thought I would find tons.

This is just my opinion,,, Any can you put on will not change mapping.. I run a Leo Vince and a lot of other shit.. lol.
I also wear ear plugs and cannot hear much. it is louder than stock, but comes with a baffle that will cut the sound back to stock. It is smaller and less weight than stock.

Installed the Akrapovic. Nice sound just a little throatier than stock. Street legal and supplied by Yamaha on the World Crosser edition.

I have a Leo Vince, installed the downspout without the baffle. I like the deep sound and its not as loud as I had expected.

I have to walk out on the limb here and say "think about it" before you ...
Wait, first I should say I love the XTZ12 and like the sound as it is OEM but could like the way it looks better.
That said I do have the OEM luggage on my bike 90% of the time but even still would love to swap for a better "looking" exhaust.
Now I f'n hate "loud pipes"-!!! They do not, IMHO, save lives. I think if you believe that then you have way more troubles in life, again, to cover my ass, IMHO-!!!
So my feeling (and please feel free to tell me to f off or what ever you want) wait for a little bit for more choices to come out for our loved S10, Super Tenere, XTZ12 or ??? ? you call her or him.

OK there are already good choices, but not so many yet and more to come I am sure for a option for our bikes. THE BOTTOM line, in my opinion, is "loud pipes just absolutely SUCK and do nothing but get the John Q Public pissed off at all of us two wheeled riders" By the way if you see some guy giving you the bird on a S10 it is likely to be me because I HATE your sound-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

best,
dt

OK Ron, you can tell us what you really mean.
LOL, you could actually post
a blank page to any modification thread and we'd know what you have to say about the subject. I know you're a riding maniac Ron, I'd like to ask you if you could be kind enough to limit your posts to things of a different nature, ie; rides you've loved/hated, best/worst gas mileage you've gotten, video clips of yourself blastin' down said routes. As I'm sure just about everybody's Mom said at least once, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all".
Back to the blank post again, say volumes without typing a word.

I won't be changing the exhaust utill I'm out of warranty so still got another few months to go.
Then I'll be looking at something quite, I've made the mistake of going loud in the past and after 18 hours it gets unbearable.
So for now the exhaust is about the only thing I've not changed ::025:: ::025:: ::025::

Another vote for the Akrapovic here. I went for it as i'm running the bike without rear pegs and heat shield and wanted something that looks good. It's pricey, but the quality is A1 and the sound isn't at all offensive.

Why have you waited until it's out of warranty? A change of end can won't have any effect on the UK warranty, or are you considering a full system and decat etc?

When I hit the exhaust mod button it will be K&N, Full re-flash and full Arrow straight through system, like you say taking out the cat ::008::

...I like a nice loud can, once n awhile.

It separates me from the next guy when we're both on full howl.

What's wrong with a little noise out the back end, Ron??

I gotta believe the issue really isn't about noise when it comes to Ron. :D Gotta hand it to him though. He's got a completey OEM bike and is happy with it as is.

Sorry about that, but noise is a real pet peave of mine. I work 20ft off a major road chock full of Harleys all summer and guess what rings in my ears all night 9 months out of the year? Same can be said for any variation, be it Yamaha, or Toyota or a 1971 Chevy C10 truck. I guess everyone thinks of no one but themselves when they feel the necessity to be loud? I like to go for 20 or 30 mile walks and a good majority is in the city, oh my freeking god what I have to hear and I don't feel anyone should need to hear other peoples crap regardless of what it is. So I don't have anything nice to say I guess, but there is no nice noise, even if it's 1% louder than stock, that's too much. Now for all my other negatives regarding mods to the bike, I still don't like them, but at least they don't affect me the way noise does.
Come on, you can't compare the lovely throaty sound of an aftermarket can on a "real" bike to the tractor sound that a Harley makes. Most aftermarket cans aren't loud and I certainly wouldn't describe the Akra as loud, it's just a different, deeper sound ;)

Ron,

Too loud is too loud and everyone has their opinion of what is too loud, however I would much rather listen to the seductive howl of a well tuned exhaust than the over driven thump of a low rider blasting vulgar rap music for the world to hear. ::009::

That said, I'm not sure my ear is sensitive enough to detect a 1% sound level increase.
