Seems my pannier is drooping. Anyone have this issue. Probably need to bend out the bracket that supports it on the bottom.

Is that what you did? Bend out the bracket?

Ok, I just took off the bracket and gave it few whacks with my sledge. Seemed to help, but needs some fine tuning. ;D

Mine droops too. Might be an illusion though because of the cutout. Suppose I'll measure it now.

Check the upper brackets. Are they parallel to each other and level?

maybe u should spread out some of the gold bars to the R side box. ::025:: ::025::

did it take a nap on the L there? Mine has that feature on the R side now after a nap, plus to be honest mine are both full of way too much stuff.(murphy's law)

I'm thinking it's more the bottom bracket, anyway I think it gives it character. ::012::

Look fwd to ur fix. ::008::

Not mine. Mt right side does not hang like it did before a SlowSide last year. The upper bracket is bent a little bit.

Mine has never taken a nap, and i never really never noticed it before. It's almost always packed with booster cables, rain gear, tire kit and a bike cover. That bracket on the bottom is pretty beefy too, but I was able to bend it out nearest the foot peg and then straight at the rubber mount with a sledge. Needs a little more, buts it's already better. Not an issue, other than aesthetics.

It might help if you try parking it away from the KLR.
The KLR is a recent addition for my son. The Garage is getting crowded. What you don't see is there's actually 2 in there, a KLR 250 and 650 as well as a little KLX 110 the boys like to beat on. I had to kick out the TRX 450 out of the garage and send it to the shed cause it took up too much room. ;D

Maybe the Tenere is feeling intimidated. ??? :D

I took the lower brackets off and bent them out a bit. They are incredibly strong. I had to heat them and of course that mean't I had to repaint them.

The problem is NOT the bracket. It's the pegs that are sagging. I didn't see any way to fix that without doing scary stuff.

I can't really suggest you use my method. You can bend the brackets out to the point that installing the boxes becomes difficult. Tough geometry. You need to bend the brackets in a nearly impossible manner.

All that said, after bending mine out, they have remained level for many overloaded trips. They aren't continuing to drop.

Thanks Bloodline - I didn't see your original post on the subject. My Pannier actually fits better now on the rubber mount. I removed the bracket completely from the peg so I wouldn't damage it, but I put it in a vice, heated it up a little where I wanted the bend, pounded it a few times; then bend it near the rubber mount to main a parallel alignment with the pannier.
For the record, I don't have a pillion rider either.

They are seriously strong brackets. Attempting to bend them while on the bike would be impossible. I too used a vice and very large wrench. Still had to use heat.

Guys, I had the same problem after I installed my OEM panniers, you might be able to notice that the pannier in my avatar is not level as it should be -- before I fixed the problem. I went back and inspected the washer(s)/plate the bracket installs over and found that it was askew and not 'level' due to the washer/plate not lining up with the notch like it should which in turn caused the mounting bracket to droop. In any case, make sure that the washer/plate cutout shown in the photo is in the notch . It is easy for it to fall out of the notch when everything is still loose. Once I took mine apart and mounted it correctly, the pannier was level like the other one. I hope this is the case and ya'll can quit beating up your brackets! ???

Mine leans the exact same way.
Check the PLASTIC tab at the top of the mounting bracket which is attached with two very small rivits. Then look at where it inserts in the PLASTIC mount on the pannier.
On my pannier, both PLASTIC parts have a small amount of play. Each by themselves would not be noticable, but combined make for about 1/4" in droop. On a 6 foot plane, 1/4" isn't noticable. On a 9" plane it is pretty obvious.

CB0802 and ScoobyNut. Thanks for the tips. I'll take a look at mine tonight after work. Maybe it's that simple. ;D

I hope it is as simple as all that. In the picture you first posted, my left pannier looked exactly like yours until I reset the washer. Let us know what you find out.
