I have read almost every post regarding the ecunleashed and it seems that everyone is happy with the performance etc. My question is that I can't seem to find any real comments or data since last year. Is there something I am missing ? I have a stock bike and would love the extra power and drive ability . Is the unleashed still the way to go ?
Sorry if I am opening a can...

If you've read all the posts - then you already know the answer. "YES" do it - it is a freekin' phenom.

Your bike will thank you and you will thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to do it. Was just curious why there is no real mention of it this year ? Maybe everyone is Unleashed ..... Nice.

Was planning on getting mine done but some unexpected expenses arose via a 16 year old daughter, going to pull the trigger as soon as possible.

There is a very knowledgeable member on this forum that does an as good, or better job of flashing your ECU, for about 1/3 the price. Just sayin'...

How does one remove the ECU anyway? Where is it located for that matter?

I have the flash, Eric did mine. I like the flash but I do not think its necessary. If anything ask about on-off throttle transitions I would like mine to be a bit gentler...

I think the flash has been around long enough that most people who would have considered doing it have either gone for it or not. For whatever reason. As stated above there are a couple of options but I would strongly suggest having it done. I have not ridden the 2014 so I can't speak from experience but from what I've read Yamaha has handled the fueling issues with the new model. After the flash my bike is so dialed in I don't see the advantage, for me, to move to the new S10.

Good info. I did the clutch thing and it certainly made a difference , so now I am excited to get the flash. I live about 12 miles from AF1 so hopefully I can just ride there and take the ECU off there and wait.
Thanks for the responses.

I've just got my S10 and don't find any issues with power delivery... I'm one of those who just adapts I guess. I'm still in the honeymoon period and running her in and I haven't really thought about wanting more power...yet...I've read lots on the flash but still not 100% sure if it increases HP or not? Does it increase peak or midrange power?

It was my favorite mod. For me it completely changed the riding experience. If I got a new tenere, I'd be on my way to AF1 racing the same day, to get the flash.

I have the ECU unleashed flash and like everything except for the somewhat abrupt initial throttle. One of the best mods I have made.

Great mod. I ended up going with a custom flash with the same S mode but a more powerful T mode than stock. It ended up being the perfect combination with plenty of power but without the abrupt initial throttle. I ride this mode 100% of the time.

I'm thinking it should still be available.
